Bouygues UK had so much fun painting charity, Full of Life's home in Ladbroke Grove!   Full of Life was founded in 1994 by parents who came together to establish a single organisation that empowered and supported parents on their lifelong journey of raising a child with additional needs. Full of Life continues to grow and now provides high quality services to over 750 families, needing more information and care support, who live in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.   Our social value representatives from our Wornington Green development, just a stone's throw from Full of Life's home on Ladbroke Grove, and our team of Document Controllers joined forces to give the Kensal House Annex a makeover, painting their front façade, railings and entrance gate. The team couldn't have done it without the help of our subcontractors, Keylon Interiors Limited, who provided painting materials and personnel to teach and guide the volunteers during the day, and Local London Contractors, who supplied the paints and cement fixer.   We were thrilled that as well as providing materials and guidance, Keylon Interiors Limited's Terence Durkin and Claudiu .... and Saket Gautam from Local London Contractors also got stuck in, joining us during the day for some painting.   Sue Redmond, Joint Chair at Full of Life, said, "I just wanted to say a huge thank you to the team for everything you have done…our building is looking beautiful…what a brilliant team you have!" #SocialValueMatters Laetitia MARIE Leticia Candida FRANCIS, Annicia Brenda Silva

Tower Hamlets Town Hall has been named winner of the Refurbished/Recycled category at the British Council for Offices National Awards! Bouygues UK worked with architects Allford Hall Monaghan Morris to bring this Grade II listed former Royal London Hospital building back to community use as the new Town Hall and headquarters for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. This unique scheme was part refurbishment of the existing Grade II listed building on Whitechapel Road and part new build at the rear, now providing a total of 26,700m2 of civic office space. The town hall has been designed to be more than just an office for council staff. At its core an accessible environment can be found, taking up the entirety of the ground floor. Dedicated to public use, the ground floor offers an open, local presence atmosphere bringing people together and enabling them to access council services in one place. The ground floor local presence hosts meeting and shared spaces, a café and the council chamber. We are so proud of this project for the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. Head to our website to find out more about what it took to transform this historic landmark: https://lnkd.in/ex6xyEwk

Today on World Sight Day, we are proud to share our progress on Oriel, the new state-of-the-art centre for eye care, research, and education. Our team is currently building level 7 and aims to reach level 10, the highest point, by the end of the year. They are laying slabs for levels five and six and preparing the South-West part of the building for the facade, glass balustrade and the installation of a waterproofing system. Excellent progress is being made on sustainable features like the ground source heat pump and attenuation tank for water management. The building’s design will create a shared space for scientific discovery and patient treatment. Oriel is a joint initiative between Moorfields Eye Hospital, London NHS Foundation Trust, the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields Eye Charity. Set to open in 2027, this world-leading centre will drive groundbreaking research and treatments in ophthalmology.

After a year of meticulous planning, our T Level programme with Class Of Your Own is live!   To welcome our first cohort of T Level students on the programme, Carol Heneghan headed to Chichester College, along with two of our current graduates, Imran Kassam and Nicholas Wayne, who shared their invaluable experiences from college, university, and their current roles at Bouygues UK.   Carol said, "it was incredibly exciting to meet with the 30 first-year T Level Design, Surveying & Planning students from Chichester College and Brighton MET and welcome them as the first cohort of T Level students Bouygues UK will be supporting. The engagement and enthusiasm we received were phenomenal, reinforcing the potential for a future career in construction. I'd like to extend huge thanks to Imran and Nicholas whose insights into life as graduates at Bouygues UK were incredibly beneficial for our learners."   During the launch event, the group explored how the RIBA Plan of Works will be integrated into the T Level Industry Placement Programme. All 30 students will have the opportunity to work on a selection project brief to design new student accommodation which they will be developing individually and with the support of their teachers. Class Of Your Own will also be offering students the chance to complete 35-hour work taster activities through which they will be able to develop the key knowledge and employability, technical and business skills required for a career in architecture, engineering and construction. This project will then be judged by Bouygues UK and up to 20 students could be selected for an Industry Placement starting in December 2024, with the programme commencing in February 2025.   We look forward to seeing the incredible work these students will achieve! #TLevels #CareersinSTEM #CareersinConstruction Chichester College Group

Pentre Awel is looking amazing! Our development in Llanelli for Carmarthenshire County Council is progressing at pace. The team has concluded the Dafen Lake footpaths and reptile enhancement works around the site and the project itself now has a watertight façade and roofs with the photovoltaic panels installed. Inside the facility, the main pool has been tiled, the learner pool and high level perimeter boarding are progressing, and the acoustic timber cladding will follow shortly. Find out more about the pools on our website: https://lnkd.in/eZvZFsbJ Within the atrium, the underfloor heating and polished concrete topping are finished. It's now time for the high level decorations and acoustic timber cladding which is due to start imminently. The internal fit out is well under-way across every floor and all 4 lifts have been installed. The innovative, multi-million-pound Pentre Awel development will bring together life science and business innovation, community healthcare and modern leisure facilities at the 83-acre Delta Lakes site on the Llanelli coastline. It is part-funded by the Swansea Bay City Deal (£40million) and is the largest regeneration scheme in south west Wales. #innovation #development
