Panelists Jerry Smith, David Guest, Babak Tavassolie, CFA and Kayley Stewart provided their expert views on the subject “A Country Divided: Implications of US political polarization on the terrorism and PV market”. Questions and discussion points included: ✅ We know what right wing violence in the US looks like, but what form could left wing violence take? ✅ Where are incidents most likely to occur? ✅ The influence of the loser of the US election on domestic political violence ✅ The influence of the winner on global geopolitics and political violence worldwide ✅ How the timing of politically motivated events will differ depending on whether the republicans or democrats win the election. ✅ How political polarization, riots and civil commotion could manifest in swing states ✅ How some risk managers are considering civil commotion exposure in a similar way as they also consider their more traditionally volatile weather perils ✅ How the market has been considering how they aggregate their exposure whilst aiming to create a balanced and resilient portfolio.
