About us

We are passionate about making exciting, unusual and delicious wines available to everyone. We make wines in smaller formats so that you can discover something remarkable without having to spend more. As our wines are in a smaller servings, you don’t have to drink too much, or throw away half a bottle. Our cans are aluminium which is infinitely recyclable so there’s that added feel good factor too. We believe that wine should be accessible, driven by grape variety and most importantly flavour. Wine shouldn’t be about complicated jargon or assumed knowledge, or forever waiting for that special occasion to open an excellent bottle. Our products are all about the grapes, flavours, aromas and textures in our wines, and we hope you’ll love them as much as we do.

    We had a fantastic time supporting this year’s Bath Business Conference at the Apex Hotels. Not only did we enjoy showcasing our brand, but we also had the pleasure of providing drinks for the awards ceremony and the goody bags - we hope you loved the Gamay! It was wonderful to connect with other local businesses, exchange ideas and share experiences. We also took part in some insightful workshops hosted by Bath BID, which offered great learning opportunities. To top it off, we even got a chance to chat on Radio Bath about the exciting rise of alternative formats in the wine industry! A big congratulations to all the award winners!

    Fareham Live is officially open! 🎭 We had the pleasure of supporting the opening of the latest Trafalgar Entertainment venue at last week's unveiling of ‘A Wave of Thanks’, an art installation commissioned by Fareham Borough Council thanking all donors and supporters. Then last night, we sampled away at the Gala Opening showing of the Rocky Horror Show (oh hi, Jason Donovan!). Conclusions - a brilliant new venue, well worth a visit, especially when you can have our Canned Wine Co. wines delivered straight to your seat! #newopening #theatre #cannedwine

    What a fantastic evening at Aston Martin Bristol last week to kick off our partnership with the Bristol Film Festival. We welcomed guests with an introduction to our brand and tasting of our wines ahead of the evening's main event - a screening of The Imitation Game in the beautiful showroom space. Luxury cars, fine wines and great cinema - what's not to love! Shout out to the other great brands who helped make this event the success it: was: The Ivy Collection, BoConcept, 6 O'clock Gin, Kuoni UK, LBW Drinks Ltd. (Lyme Bay Winery) and Fears Watch Company Limited.     Just over 5 years ago Simon and Ben co-founded Canned Wine Co., coming together with a passion for putting better wines into a single serve format. It was for those moments when you didn’t want a whole bottle, or the other half was not drinking wine but you fancied a glass with that salty, buttery and creamy Risotto on a Thursday evening. It was against those times when the dregs of the bottle at the pub, which had been open for a few days, were served to you, and against the festival’s expensive boring wines decanted into single use plastic cups. It was for the curious, bringing new and exciting grapes to wine drinkers so they could try Gruner, St Laurent, or a Viognier for the first time without committing to a bottle. Over the years there have been some exceptional highs - HarrodsNational Trust, supplying the official caterers to The Championships at WimbledonATG Entertainment UK and many more - and some lows - the usual start-up growing pains, cashflow fights, and hard knock learnings. Throughout this time, we've built an incredibly passionate team we’re so proud to work with, and partnered with a range of distributors who are excited in helping us grow and share our vision for delicious wines in can. It is also worth shouting out some of the competitors in the space. We said from the beginning that the more people doing canned wine well, the better for the category. Consumers deserve more choice and as a team we are delivering on that. Better quality, more range, and more access across the UK in the on- and off-trade. So to today and to our crowning glory with a listing at Waitrose & Partners something we aspired to do from day one. For Ben, who can trace his career in wine to a part-time job on the Waitrose wine department in Salisbury and then in Bath alongside uni, this is a full circle moment. For all our team, it’s a wonderful achievement and a fun window into the future for Canned Wine Co. In association with C&C Group, the awards offer organisations a chance to showcase the strides they have made in contributing to the sustainability of both the industry and the planet. They also aim to recognise the outstanding ESG initiatives within the sector.     From intern to Head of Sustainability & Operations, Marieke has played an integral role within Canned Wine Co. since its earliest days, developing the business into what it is today. Managing endless overlapping productions, coordinating transport across countries (and dealing with all the usual hiccups), distributing stock to all the right places at the right time, there’s not much Marieke doesn’t do (all with a little help from her spreadsheet mastery). Marieke also published the business’ first sustainability roadmap last year, quickly followed by achieving the Positive Luxury Butterfly Mark and submitting our B Corp application. This week, we’re celebrating her four years at Canned Wine Co. - please join us in raising a glass to Marieke! 🎂

    "Use it to convert anti-can amigos" We were thrilled to see Charlotte Kristensen DipWSET's lovely mention of our Verdejo in her article for You Magazine in Mail on Sunday, highlighting her top picks for picnics. Whilst most of our amigos love nothing more than a good wine in can, we know there are some people out there that need a little more convincing. So look no further, and pour them a glass of this Rueda Verdejo. That should do the trick. The timing couldn't be better, as our Verdejo will soon be making its way to many shelves across the country! Keep an eye out for when September rolls around ….
