👏 Congratulations to all the winners at last night's British Ports Association Awards Ceremony, especially Montrose Port Authority who won the SME Port of the Year award, for which we were also shortlisted.

It was our pleasure to welcome visitors from the Western Iyamu Global Foundation to the Harbour Office earlier this week. To celebrate Maritime UK Week, team members Evie and Emma were invited in to the Hospital Radio Plymouth studios earlier this week. With DJ Keith Jolley, they discussed the Harbour and the wide range of work we do including Evie's favourite subject of cruise visits, and Emma's of workboats, and highlighting the many varied opportunities to work in the maritime industry. Feeling proud to have welcomed the stunning Le Dumont D'Urville into Plymouth today! The gorgeous weather and Plymouth Sound provided the perfect backdrop for this beautiful ship, part of the PONANT fleet, currently on charter to Abercrombie & Kent. The level of luxury onboard is absolutely remarkable—what an experience! It was a pleasure meeting Captain Eyssautier for a plaque exchange, followed by a short tour of the vessel. Of course, no visit to Plymouth would be complete without gifting the captain a bottle of our very own Plymouth Gin! It was even more exciting to see our own pilot boat Stamford, guiding the Phantom cargo ship out of the port from the view of the sauna, and even catching sight of the Pont-Aven Brittany Ferry making its way toward Millbay while waiting for our return tender. Last week we welcomed our latest cohort of Small Commercial Vessel apprentices. Their first week involved them completing, amongst others, their Powerboat Level 2 course. As you can see they have thrown themselves fully into their learning. We wish the whole cohort all the best for their training ahead. Sean Marshall CertEd, TechIOSH, Deputy Harbour Master attended the Plymouth FLOW Conference today. Sean provided an overall update on the Harbour, and the huge opportunities that FLOW could mean to the region; acknowledging that FLOW in the South West would not be a 'one port only' approach but a strategic and collaborative relationship between the region's ports and key stakeholders. #cleanenergy #maritime #port
