Provisional 2023 UK greenhouse gas emissions on a residence basis decreased by 3.8% on 2022, having increased 1.2% in 2022. UK emissions were 487 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (Mt CO2e) in 2023 (provisional), 0.3% below emissions in 2020 during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
