Construction has started at 72 Upper Ground, with the appointment of Multiplex. Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. and CO—RE have awarded Multiplex the £500 million contract to deliver the landmark redevelopment of the former ITV studios on London’s iconic South Bank. Construction will start immediately and is targeted for completion in 2029. Stephen Black, Director at CO—RE shared his thoughts on the progress: “Multiplex bring world-class construction expertise to the project. We look forward to working in partnership with them and Mitsubishi Estate to deliver an outstanding building.” The project partners received the go-ahead from the High Court in December to transform the 2.5-acre site into a new commercially led mixed-use development which prioritises wellbeing and sustainability. Designed by Make Architects, the 25-storey office building will offer a high-quality and affordable workspace, alongside space specifically tailored to the needs of Lambeth’s emerging creative industries as well as the addition of new cafes and restaurants, cultural venues and open, green spaces. Standing 25 storeys high in the City of London, Ropemaker was completed in 2024. It’s thought to be one of the tallest stone-clad constructions to be created in London since St Paul’s Cathedral was built in 1675. We spoke to Frank Filskow partner at Make Architects about how he worked with CO-RE and Old Park Lane Management to create Ropemaker. A building that focuses on prioritising the wellbeing of its occupiers, Frank explains how this has been achieved, including achieving a BREEAM 2018 ‘Outstanding’ rating. Today, the High Court has ruled in favour on all four counts of Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government's approval of Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. and CO—RE’s redevelopment of the former ITV studios on the South Bank. Mitusbishi Estate and CO—RE have issued the following statement: “We welcome Justice Mould’s judgement. At every stage of the planning process, our transformational plans for 72 Upper Ground have had the backing of senior politicians and independent experts including Lambeth Council and its planning officers, the Greater London Authority, DLUHC and the planning inspector.” “We are looking forward to delivering an outstanding building that makes a significant positive contribution to the South Bank.” Read more on the project: https://lnkd.in/gnie6ZQH Shinichi Kagitomi, Stephen Black, Make Architects #southbank #itvstudios #London #development #property

It’s been a fantastic year for CO—RE as we have celebrated many milestones – including the completion of Ropemaker, the 425,000sq ft offices in the heart of the City of London, alongside impressive progress at Stonecutter, EC4 and The Fitzrovia, W1 as they approach completion. Alongside plenty of project developments, the CO—RE team have also taken time to give back and support charities, from cookery classes with Migrateful, to Bradley Baker trekking through the Himalayas to raise an incredible £11,800 for Child Bereavement UK and Cancer Research UK (CRUK). Take a look at some of our highlights this year. We’re looking forward to what’s to come for 2025. #2024 #propertydevelopment #londonproperty

This was not the way I wanted to finish what has been a very rewarding and fulfilling climb in the Himalayas! But being stuck on a ridge at 5800m with extremely high winds and a broken knee, I sadly had no choice! This is my FINAL POST regarding my attempt to summit Ama Dablam and once again I’d like to thank everyone who kindly donated to the two selected charities. Also my thanks to Adrian Nelhams for all his unwavering support throughout this amazing adventure! Any donations would still be hugely appreciated. After climbing an impressive 5,800m above sea level on the steep South West ridge of Ama Dablam, disaster struck as Bradley Baker could not continue his climb to the summit. Although this was not the end to the trip that Bradley envisaged, he still experienced an amazing journey through the Himalayas. Raising money for Child Bereavement UK and Cancer Research UK (CRUK), thank you to all those who have donated. If you would still like to make a donation, please see below. Well done to Bradley Baker and his climbing partner Adrian Nelhams for their incredible efforts and thanks to local people and climbing community who made the trip so memorable.
