We're pleased to celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth this October! This year’s theme, ‘Reclaiming Narratives’, highlights the power of Black people shaping their own stories. All month, we’ll be sharing ways for our colleagues and the people we support to learn, show solidarity, and get involved. In line with the theme, we’re also encouraging more colleagues to join our Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic Network - ensuring diverse voices are heard and help shape our future. Stay tuned for more updates on how we’re honouring Black History Month!

Everyone at Community Integrated Care is saddened to hear of the passing of our charity’s Founder and Life President, Dr David Robertson. Our thoughts are with David’s wife and family at this difficult time. Dr Robertson was a true visionary and pioneer of the social care sector. In 1988 he was at the forefront of the Care in the Community Agenda, which ensured that people with support needs could live full, active and happy lives in places they call home, in the communities they know and love. Because of him and his belief in a better society, thousands of lives have been transformed, and the people we support live lives of choice, control and independence. Dr Robertson has left an indelible print on this charity and sector – and even as we change, grow and innovate, we will always continue to honour his legacy by maintaining the heart and ethos he gave us 36 years ago.

As part of #NationalInclusionWeek, we're proud to share John Duvall’s story 👇 John, a Virtual Care Centre Operator in our TEC Team, thought early retirement was his only option -until he found the support he needed to continue his career with us. Our commitment to inclusivity is reflected in our Age-Friendly Employer Pledge, in partnership with Centre for Ageing Better . This pledge underscores our dedication to creating a supportive environment for colleagues of all ages, helping them thrive. 🙌💼
