Cora Homes is delighted to have become the first housebuilder to receive an award from the Royal Scottish Geographical Society (RSGS) for its commitment to climate education. The award recognises the company’s senior management’s commitment to educating its staff about the climate emergency, with more than 90% of staff completing an RSGS Climate Solutions Course. Cora Homes, which is based in Northamptonshire, has also pledged that all new staff members will receive this important training. New research published by the Home Builders Federation (HBF) has predicted the government's housing plans could support more than 1 million jobs while generating £330bn in economic activity, should it be successful in building 1.5m homes. Steve Kelly, Director of Growth Marketing at Cora Homes, said: "These are very encouraging findings which showcase the economic benefits of getting Britain building again. "Our country is in the midst of a housing crisis and the only way we are going to get out of it is by building quality, future-proofed homes for generations to come. "To know that building these desperately needed homes will also have such a profoundly positive impact on the economy is yet further proof of these plans' importance. The new carpet range by Furlong Flooring is made from recycled plastic – saving around 9,600 plastic bottles from landfill per home carpeted.
