Making positive impact at Cardiff University At Dalkia, we strive to become a Trusted Partner and put People First in every aspect of our projects and collaboration with our clients. We are proud to announce that Cardiff University has been awarded an excellent 44/45 score by the Considerate Constructors Scheme. This is a true testament to Dalkia’s commitment to health and safety, collaboration and community engagement.    As we continue to champion positive change, we have also collaborated with SuDSPlanter Ltd to deliver a sustainable rain garden planter solution that collects our rainwater from the temporary site office roof via a downpipe into the planter, ‘slowing the flow’ of water generated by our compound and release into the planter. Our team have also made the most of the SuDSPlanter® by growing their own tomato plants and runner beans on-site as part of this new technology! #TrustedPartner #PeopleFirst #Collaboration #ConsiderateConstructor

We’re delighted to have celebrated two major wins at the 2024 BESA Group Industry Awards, which recognise excellence in building services and outstanding projects, products and initiatives. Congratulations to Nadya Rakhtopol, who won the Manly Management Training Bursary Trust Award! As a Trainee Planner, Nadya has shown exceptional growth following her successful T Level placement with Dalkia UK and this accolade is a well-deserved recognition of her hard work. We’re also proud that our team was awarded Retrofit Project of the Year for their work on the Spindles Workspace Redevelopment. This innovative project transformed the Spindles Shopping Centre, repurposing redundant retail space into state-of-the-art commercial offices. It’s a key initiative in revitalising the local area and we were proud to partner with Willmott Dixon and Oldham Council to bring this vision to life. A special mention goes to Grace Dixon, who made the final shortlist for the Rising Star Award! Although she just missed out on winning, reaching this final stage is a testament to her hard work and dedication as a Trainee Digital Engineer. Well done, Grace! #BetterTogether #EngineeringExcellence

We believe in putting People First. Recently our Glasgow team hosted Prostate Scotland who delivered an informative talk during one of our health and safety meetings. The successful session provided valuable insights into prostate health and the importance of early detection and prevention.   Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers among men and awareness is crucial for early diagnosis and treatment. We asked employees what they took away from the talk with many saying, “Early detection is key” and “It made a difficult subject easy to learn about”. Mae Bell, Prostate Scotland commented “The workshop was enjoyable and positive for us as we had lots of engagement. Some shared they would be making an appointment or be speaking to their husbands, partners, family and friends about the topic”. Health talks like these are vital to provide employees with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions. We are dedicated to creating a workplace where health and well-being is prioritised. This is just one of the many initiatives we have in place to support our employees. #Peoplefirst #HealthandSafety #ProstateScotland

What an amazing way to kick off our Wellbeing & Diversity week yesterday. We were honoured and inspired to be joined by Samantha Kinghorn, ‘Queen of the Track’ and Paris 2024 Gold and Silver medal winning Paralympian. Sammi’s personal story is truly one of hope, positivity and resilience. Her positivity shone through, when talking about coming to terms with her spinal injury she said, ‘there’s always somebody who wishes they were you.’ We recognise that employing diverse talent is important. Exploring this aspect with Sammi, she feels people who’ve overcome adversity bring amazing qualities including being incredibly motivated and determined to succeed, they also have a different view on the world. We’ve plenty more happening throughout the week to highlight all aspects of wellbeing and diversity for our people. These including sharing resources, videos and information to build knowledge and understanding of these important topics. #WellbeingAndDiversityWeek #PeopleFirst #Paris2024Medals

Following the recent Public Sector Decarbonisation Scheme (PSDS) Phase 4 announcement, we wanted to share one of our successfully delivered projects from a previous phase. Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust partnered with Dalkia to deliver a heat electrification retrofit decarbonisation project at Charing Cross Hospital in London. It included 10MW of air and water source heat pumps, replacement of an ageing steam network as well HV substation and infrastructure upgrades and reduced the Hospital’s Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 40%. Stuart Bowman, Dalkia UK commented 'This was an incredibly challenging and highly rewarding project. Its success is testament to the amazing work from all those involved in delivering the solution at both Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Dalkia.' #TrustedPartners #Collaboration #Salix #PSDS https://lnkd.in/duGgeWvX
