It was an exciting welcome to Autodesk last week with Sasha Crotty and Virginia Senf. This is the start of something great...
It's always a pleasure to be in the UK, home to a community leading the way on AECO innovation. This time was no exception, with some key highlights... ○ My first NXT BLD and NXT DEV, where Martyn Day used his superpowers again to bring together all the smartest and most passionate people thinking, dreaming and building the future of AEC tech ○ Sharing Autodesk's vision for realizing better data alongside Sasha Crotty at NXT BLD. A heartfelt thank you to Emily Scoones and Josha V. for allowing us to share the inventive applications your teams have already built using our new AEC Data Model API. If you're interested in expanding accessibility to model data across your organization in support of better decisions, give it a try - https://lnkd.in/d4THnFCg ○ The level of innovation happening around rethinking the existing design/manufacture/construction paradigm, the presentations from Adam Ward at Space Group and Dale Sinclair at WSP were particularly inspiring...small number of big things, not big number of small things! ○ Getting to meet the extended Datum360 team in Stockton-on-Tees and welcome them to the Autodesk family. One of the things I love most about this industry is that the biggest improvements are often being realized outside of the typical tech centers of SF and London. At UNIFI, I remember getting funny faces about being HQ'd in Las Vegas (hey, did you think all those casinos built themselves?). Datum360 is based in the heart of one of the UK's industrial zones, where the team's extensive engineering experience on complex oil & gas projects led them to create a platform that connects data across our industry's many siloed tools. Their CEO, Steve Wilson describes it as "a single place to go to and search for the truth" and we couldn't be more excited to have the team on board. Though I never did get to try a "parmo", the elusive local delicacy... Off to my adopted home in Abruzzo to celebrate Independence Day with my italo-americana famiglia, and looking forward to being back in the UK soon!
