#Devro takes pride in supporting the future generations and works closely with universities to support students during their studies and into their chosen careers. Sabahat Ruba is currently studying for her Master’s degree in Analytical Sciences and recently joined Devro Moodiesburn for a three month project, supported by Dr. Stephen Mee We caught up with Sabahat to see how she found the experience: What are you studying and at which university are you studying at? I am studying for a Master of Science in Analytical Sciences in biosciences industries at Herriot Watt University’s Edinburgh campus. Tell us a little about your master’s degree: My degree has given me a detailed knowledge of applied analytical sciences. Moreover, I got access to analytical equipment and learned how to acquire and process data effectively and draw appropriate conclusions. What support did Devro provide you and how did it help you during your studies? I have completed my three months project with Devro. I must say, during this time, Dr Stephen Mee, Global Research Scientist, was very supportive. He provided me with useful information and samples for experiments whenever I need them. Devro was also kind enough to invite me and my supervisor from the university to visit the labs at Moodiesburn and we were given a site tour. This helped me a lot during my lab work. What do you hope to do once you’ve graduated? After graduation I want to continue my studies and to do a PhD in analytical chemistry for further research and in depth knowledge. #TestimonialTuesday #MastersDegree

On the day the Moodiesburn Supply Chain Site Leadership team facilitated a factory tour and a tasting session at the PATL Test Kitchen. Devro is pleased to introduce Sára Tomášová, who has joined Devro Jilemnice as a #HR trainee on a two year placement from Palacky University. We caught up with Sara to find out how she is settling into her new role: Hi, my name is Sara and I am 24 years old. I am studying Adult Education at Palacky University in Olomouc. My friend told me about the HR Trainee position in Devro and I applied. I appreciate the opportunity for young students to get involved in the world of business. Devro is a global company that can offer me a lot of experience. If you are hardworking, curious, and ambitious – you can try working here and you won't regret it. It is beneficial for me to observe education in practice in the company – from obligatory training to employee development. #Devro Jilemnice places much importance on supporting the younger generation in the local community and plan to continue collaborating with local universities for #placement programmes. We tailor our placement programmes to meet the individual needs of each student, depending on which department they are placed in.
