It’s been a pleasure to support Chester Football Club through the design of an inclusive and accessible extension to their stadium.

As a fan of almost 36 years it has been a privilege for Euan Kellie Property Solutions to have prepared and submitted a planning application on behalf of Chester Football Club to Flintshire County Council for a proposed Disabled Viewing Platform at the Deva Stadium. This important project will provide crucial access for disabled supporters, to enable them to have a sheltered view of matches and also provide inclusivity to the first floor of the stadium for hospitality and events. Huge thanks to Steve Jones at the Club for all his help and support along with David Gilkes and John Fielding at DK-Architects in preparing the plans. Alongside this thanks to Gavin Floyd of DEESURVEYS Limited who also aided this project at no cost to the club. Special thanks to Everton Football Club who engaged with the club and provided a viewing of their facilities at Goodison Park. Finally, thanks to James Ketley for all his hard work in pulling the application together 🙏🏻

Last week the DK-Architects Team took a day out of the office to get some fresh air in the Peak District climbing Mam Tor and along the Great Ridge to Lose Hill. The weather was far kinder to us this year and we managed the 15km walk back to the pub in Castleton without a drop of rain.

The Local Centre in Palace Fields for Riverside has been awarded a National Housing Housing Design Award – a fantastic outcome for all involved. Peter Denton, Chief Executive Officer at Homes England, praised the project as an exemplar model of regeneration and commented on the skill and commitment to not only create a great place, but to connect that place into the wider area for the benefit of the whole community and wider neighbourhood. The award is a testament to the dedication, commitment and determination of the highly skilled wider project team, the local authority Halton Borough Council, and most importantly, Riverside, who have stewarded the scheme to bring this nuanced plan together. We are already working to deliver the first phase of construction on-site for this truly important piece of regeneration with the construction partner Lovell Partnerships Ltd. We were fortunate to have Harriet Stobie join us during the summer to work alongside the team on a number of live projects including experience of site surveys, 3D modelling, and elevational studies. The DK-Architects team were very impressed with Harriet's positive attitude, eagerness to learn and impressive modelling ability and we're sure she'll go on to do great things in Architecture. We thoroughly enjoy working with work experience students of all levels, and this summer have hosted school students from Year 10 through to those undertaking their Architectural degrees.
I am extremely grateful to DK-Architects for giving me the opportunity to gain valuable work experience at their practice over the summer. During my month placement I helped on two interesting live projects and gained valuable skills including learning new software such as Vectorworks and Sketch up. I learnt a lot through the expertise of the team, which I hope to take forward into third year to improve my own projects.
