Dragados UK & Ireland and Transport for London are thrilled to announce that the Bank Station Capacity Upgrade (BSCU) has been shortlisted for NRA 2024 in the Major Project of the Year category! BSCU is a transformative infrastructure project that enhances station capacity, safety, and accessibility. Dragados and LU have built a new entrance and southbound platform, 12 escalators, two travelators, two lifts, and 1.3km of new tunnels and passageways. This has increased Bank Station's capacity by 40%, improved safety, and provided step-free access. Procured and awarded by TfL in August 2013 through the Innovative Contractor Engagement (ICE) process, this NEC design and construction project was completed in February 2023. Four major openings, including a 17-week closure of the Northern line, were required to integrate the new infrastructure into the existing station on time. This achievement is a true testament to teamwork and collaboration. Dragados extends heartfelt thanks to TfL, the designers, contractors, and suppliers for their incredible collaboration in delivering "Best for Bank." The National Rail Awards 2024 ceremony will take place on September 12th, 2024. We look forward to the NRA ceremony with our fantastic team and partners. 🚧 Exciting Milestone Reached at HS2 Curzon Street Project! 🚄   On Monday, February 26th, 2024, amidst meticulous planning and rigorous approval processes conducted by Network Rail and HS2 (High Speed Two) Ltd, our MaceDragados UK & Ireland JV (MDJV) team received the green light to commence RBS1 wall piling works at the HS2 Curzon Street project! This marks a pivotal moment in our journey toward delivering this groundbreaking infrastructure project.   These wall-piling works are not without their challenges. We are operating in close proximity to the live Rugby-Birmingham-Stratford main railway line, making safety and precision our top priorities. Our team is executing these works with utmost care and attention, ensuring minimal disruption to the surrounding environment and the ongoing railway operations.   One of the key strategies we've implemented to mitigate risks is the installation of 18 state-of-the-art vibration sensors. These sensors provide real-time monitoring of piling vibrations, allowing us to respond swiftly to any deviations from the expected parameters. Six of these sensors are strategically positioned trackside, while the remaining twelve are located on-site, ensuring comprehensive coverage throughout the project area.   MDJV has successfully installed 21 piles. Each of these piles measures 900mm in diameter and spans approximately 12 meters in length. This achievement speaks volumes about the dedication and expertise of our team, as well as the efficiency of our processes.   Thank you so much to everyone involved in making this milestone possible and in driving the success of the HS2 Curzon Street project.     #HS2 #CurzonStreet #Infrastructure #Construction #Teamwork #Milestone #Progress #Safety #Innovation
