Aviation sector update! 🛬 We are proud to announce that we have been successful in securing the next tranche of work for Careys at Edinburgh Airport as part of the Autumn Runway Works. Valued at £274,000, our scope of work will include planing out defective areas of the runway and resurfacing using 10mm airfield SMA. Cumberland Council A595 works completion! 🚨 We have recently concluded works on the A595 between New Mill and Gosforth, Cumbria. This scheme involved the resurfacing of an extremely busy section of the A595 using inlay and overlay techniques. This section of the A595 is the main trunk road through West Cumbria and is the main commuter route to the Sellafield nuclear site in West Cumbria. ✅ Our scope of work included planing out of original carriageway, relaying the carriageway, removal and replacement of all ironwork, reinstatement of footpaths and installation of new kerbing. 👷♂️ Read more on this scheme here! ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dK28FwV7

Continuing our work on the National Highways Pavement Delivery Framework! ✅ We have recently completed another significant scheme as part of the National Highways PDF. This scheme comprised of resurfacing works on a section of the M6 between junction 26 and 27, consisting of 50mm depth inlay patching on lanes 1,2 and 3 – with 110mm depth inlay patches for traffic induction loop installation. Continuing our social value programme! 💚 It's been a busy two weeks for our Social Value & Training Manager, Chris Lumsdon, who has delivered a series of student coaching sessions at Wiggonby and Richmond Primary Schools. Our work for Cumberland Council continues! 🤝 We have recently concluded works on another surfacing and civils scheme as our work continues for Cumberland Council. Our plant investment continues! 👀 Investment in our fleet continues as we look to support new contracts across Northern England and Southern Scotland. This includes purchase of two brand new, state of the art road sweepers worth over £500,000! ✅ Thanks to Scania UK's excellent customer service, both road sweepers have now been delivered to our busy surfacing division in time for our forthcoming major road schemes. #dsdconstruction #investment #surfacing #sweepers

Another Apprentice update! 👷♂️ As part of our Dennis Nugent Apprenticeship Scheme, we are proud to introduce our apprentice groundworker, Oliver Denvir. Oliver has been with DSD Construction since October 2022 working in our nuclear division on projects such as the Sellafield Repack and Replacement Analytical Projects in West Cumbria. Oliver's wide ranging duties include excavating, laying ducts and drainage, preparing for and carrying out concrete pours and laying kerbs. He balances his work with studies at Lakes College in Workington on a day release basis. ✅ We are looking forward to seeing Oliver develop his career at DSD Construction, and we will support him on his journey to become a qualified site engineer.
