About us
EDF Renewables is part of one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies in the UK. With our portfolio of 42 sites across the UK, including onshore, offshore, battery and solar, we are providing some of the much needed new affordable, low carbon electricity the UK needs. EDF Renewables UK has more than 14 GW of renewables projects in planning and development. We look after the operations and maintenance of our own wind farms. Customers need new low carbon electricity to be affordable – our innovation is driving costs down, for example our Blyth Offshore Demonstrator Project which has used float and submerge technology on the foundations, 66 kV electrical connection cables and 8.3MW turbines – all firsts in offshore wind. We are also looking at the future of onshore wind using the most modern and efficient turbines to make this technology as low cost as possible. The basis of our success is our people. We have an engaged, enthusiastic and dedicated team in an organisation that encourages agile, flexible and dynamic working. The willingness of the team to pull together to meet challenges is the source of our momentum. Whether you're working in the operational environment on site, or in one of our support functions in an office, we value the contribution each person makes. Every year we run a apprenticeship and graduate schemes to provide unique opportunities for people to get a foot into the renewable energy career ladder. For all careers opportunities and enquiries, please visit our careers page - www.edf-re.uk/careers We pride ourselves on working closely with local communities throughout the projects, from the early stages right the way through to development, construction, operation and beyond. We met with Gregor Poynton MP last Friday, at our Pearie Law wind farm near Livingston, as part of our continued engagement with new MPs. Gregor was given a tour of Pearie Law, which has given more than £800,000 back to local community projects since it came into operation, by Ruth Shewan l Chart.PR MCIPR CIPR Accredited l MSc and Ross Shillinglaw from EDF Renewables UK. We were at the 2024 Wind Energy Week reception last night in the College Garden of Westminster Abbey. There were speeches from Dan McGrail, CEO of RenewableUK, and Michael Shanks MP and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. It was a good opportunity to catch up with colleagues and peers from the industry, to both celebrate the historic 30GW milestone reached by the UK wind energy industry... and discuss how we can power ahead to accelerate the rollout of clean energy. Thanks to RenewableUK for the invitation and for hosting a fantastic evening. More than £2 million has been awarded by the Fallago Environment Fund since launch in 2013. The Fallago Environment Fund is funded by Roxburghe Estates, Federated Hermes and EDF Renewables UK, and has benefited a huge range of projects across the Scottish Borders. Many of those receiving support from the Fallago Environment Fund will have had their funds matched. In fact, it's estimated that an extra £10 has been raised for every £1 donation from the Fund... which is a huge boost to the local area. The Fund has supported projects focused on: 🔸 Habitat restoration 🔸 Historic building preservation 🔸 New museums 🔸 Support for vulnerable residents and young people 🔸 Community events 🔸Covid-19 support Pictured (left-right) are Liam Haig, Area Manager for EDF Renewables UK and His Grace, The Duke of Roxburghe. #CommunityBenefitFunds #Scotland #Communities #Sustainability #OnshoreWind

Exciting news in from our Ireland team 🎉 Our TDC Community Solar Park in County Roscommon was successful in the Irish Government’s RESS 4 auction. With a generating capacity of 75MW this will be our largest solar farm project in Ireland so far. We're proud to be playing our part in helping Ireland achieve its solar energy targets. Thanks to the project team and we look forward to starting construction on the solar farm as soon as possible. #Solar #RESS4 #80by30 #SolarTargets #AcceleratingCleanEnergy

Well done to the Codling Wind Park team on submitting their planning application last week. This film explains why this is such a milestone for the offshore wind project. #AcceleratingCleanEnergy #OffshoreWind #RenewableEnergy
Friday was a big day for the Coding Wind Park project. It's more than 20 years since Codling was first identified as a possible site for an offshore wind farm project. And on Friday we submitted our planning application. Codling Wind Park is vital to Ireland's green future. As Ireland's largest phase one project, it'll supply nearly half of all Irish homes with clean green electricity. Leading us towards energy independence and paving the way for a thriving offshore wind sector in Ireland. We have achieved a major milestone at Codling Wind Park, our joint venture offshore wind project with Fred. Olsen Seawind ⬇️ Today the team submitted one of the biggest planning applications in Irish planning history, comprising more than 200 individual documents of up to 1,000 pages each. Massive congratulations to Codling Wind Park 👏 This is a significant step in the progression of Codling into the next stage of detailed development and towards financial investment decision (FID). #AcceleratingCleanEnergy #OffshoreWind #RenewableEnergy
