From local brew to national pride. The case study for our award-winning work for HEINEKEN Vietnam's Bia Viet is now live! Vietnam leads Southeast Asia in beer consumption, with mainstream brands dominating 70% of the market, making it an intensely competitive segment. In just three years, Heineken's Bia Việt had already emerged as a formidable contender for the title of the National Beer of Vietnam. Our challenge? To refresh the visual identity, capturing the essence of modern Vietnam while resonating with its people, positioning the brand as the Pride of Vietnam. We saw this as an opportunity to create something that transcended the typical category conventions, embracing a culture-first approach that delved into the heart of what defines the Vietnamese beer drinker. Creating a global community which focuses on personal growth and collective empowerment, the CFA Institute required a bold new identity which reflected just that. We partnered with the team to deliver a refreshed look which emphasized the impact the non-profit has as a positive force on the industry, whilst showcasing its influence in providing accessible and diverse pathways for a new generation of professionals. Across the brand-lift we strove to visually translate the CFA Institute’s collective contribution of value to today’s investment world: the aperture graphic device gave a compelling starting point from which we were able to unify and build the organization’s new design system. A dynamic shape which can open and close, it acts as a metaphor for the big-vision potential of a career in investment. We evolved the icon as the glue of the updated visual identity, using it a parent-brand emblem which also forms a key part of a wider design system that has the ability to flex with the new brand architecture. Reflecting the wider strengths behind the story of the CFA Institute, the refreshed identity exudes confidence and fluidity in expressing the boundary-pushing ideas that flow across its global network of partners, candidates, and employers. The result is a new look which reinforces how, in the fast-paced world of investment, the global CFA community can enable bold new levels of societal innovation and value.
