This morning, members of our executive board visited the Fuel Bank Foundation at Queensborough Community Centre on the Scovell Estate in Southeast London. Fuel Bank Foundation is the only UK charity to focus on the challenges of people living in fuel crisis. Given Ofgem’s emphasis on supporting vulnerable consumers and the issue of forced prepayment meter installation in recent years, this visit offered a valuable chance for Ofgem decision makers to explore the support that is available to energy consumers, gain insight into the consumers ‘lived experience’ and directly understand FBF’s efforts to address the issue of fuel crisis. We would like to thank those who took time out of their days to host us and explain the issues that they are facing and look forward to working with them in the future to better support energy consumers.

🆕 #opendata set alert from UK Power Networks. 🔔 ⚡ We’ve made planning your electricity usage simple! 🔌 From installing EV charge points to heat pumps, stakeholders can now see which secondary substation is feeding their area with our new secondary substation feeding map. This is now published for the 71,000+ unredacted sites across our entire network. 🤝 Special credit to Geoff Crollie for network tracing to even make this possible. Credit to Yiu-Shing Pang, Harshil Sumaria, Rebecca Flack and Mollie Purser for manipulating and publishing this dataset as well as to the excellent engineers who install LV monitoring equipment to provide visibility of our networks.

The quarterly energy Price Cap will change from 1 July 2024. The new #PriceCap is £1,568 The level is based on the typical use of an average household on a supplier’s standard default dual fuel tariff. The price cap reflects the cost of supplying energy to our homes and sets a maximum amount suppliers can charge per unit of energy bought on the global wholesale market. It's a cap on the energy unit price suppliers can charge, not a cap on our total bills. If you use more, you will pay more. More on how this might affect you ⬇️
