**Exciting Progress on Ysgol Llyn Y Forwyn! 🌱🏫** We are thrilled to announce that F P Hurley is delivering the mechanical and electrical building services for the new Ysgol Llyn Y Forwyn in Ferndale, Rhondda Cynon Taf. This state-of-the-art school, being constructed on the site of the former Chubb Fire and Security Factory, will provide 270 Welsh medium places, including a Cylch Meithrin catering to 2-3 year olds. We're proud to incorporate innovative low carbon technologies into the installation, featuring: - Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs) - Underfloor heating - PV panels for electric generation - EV charging points - A fully monitored DALI lighting system for enhanced energy efficiency As we move forward, we are delighted to report that works are progressing well, with handover scheduled for October 2024. Several members of the F P Hurley & Sons Ltd attended Chris Cooke Testimonial & the Vale Cricket Club's 20th Anniversary Dinner on Friday evening. F P Hurley had the pleasure of inviting Curtis Boughton, Colin Rall, Beverly King and the Legendary Cricketer Collis King, to join us. It was a phenomenal night hosted by John-Paul Davies with celebrity guests which included Cricket Icons Chris Cooke, Moeen Ali, Ian Bell & Tammy Beaumont. Thank you to Gareth Andrews & Vale Cricket Club for organising another brilliant event, we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. **We are pleased to announce that the Pontypridd Middle School project has successfully completed** Well done to everyone involved on this project. We’d like to extend our thanks to Morgan Sindall Construction & Infrastructure for appointing us to complete the mechanical services. The refurbishment provides a new building to school students from ages 3-16 which includes a Nursery, Infants and Juniors area. The new primary school is located within the existing craft block of the secondary school, which has undergone extensive renovation resulting in a net zero carbon in operation stand-alone facility. Our scope of works included LTHW via 3 ASHPs, full domestic hot and cold water, above ground drainage, ventilation, AHUs, kitchen supply and extract fans, NVHRs to ventilate the classrooms, and BMS controls.  Our team also assisted with the social value delivery on the project, through a career event provided for the secondary school pupils, and mock interviews at Pontypridd Job Centre. We look forward to hearing how the children are enjoying the new building upon their return from the summer holidays.

The team have been busy attending the Cabot Circus Career Fair today in Bristol, which was organised by employment organisation, One Front Door, in connection with Bristol City Council. It was great to be among the 40 employers in attendance, promoting the company and the career paths that exist within building services engineering. It was a pleasure to speak to so many people interested in learning more about the industry.

We were delighted to welcome work experience student, Diego Samuels, last week to the District Heating Network project at the University of West of England. Diego, of Oasis Academy Brightstowe in Bristol, joined our site team for a taste of building services engineering. Shadowing the site management team, he was given some valuable tours around the site to see the installation first hand, along with a tour around previous completed projects we have delivered for the University. He was able to see the SAP3 student residences project, gaining an understanding of the scale and complexity of our work. 

Great meeting up with the mechanical services designers to discuss the future Velindre Cancer Hospital in Cardiff and other healthcare decarbonisation opportunities, from Ingho, at their offices in Malaga today.

We would like to extend our thanks to SACYR for hosting a Meet the Buyer event today at the Village Hotel in Cardiff, in relation to the new Velindre Cancer Hospital project being built in Whitchurch, Cardiff.  It was a valuable opportunity to meet the team in person, and to build trust and credibility while providing valuable networking opportunities. SACYR delivered several informative presentations which helped us learn more about this exciting project, including their Social Value approach and how this will bring positive social impact to the surrounding community.  

This week, the team have been busy attending several career fairs as part of our work with Morgan Sindall. The team were privileged to meet with year 7 and 8 pupils at Pontypridd High School today, at a careers fair run by Careers Wales in connection with Morgan Sindall. We’re strong advocates of promoting the construction industry as a career path, and It was fantastic to engage with the pupils and inspire the next generation of building services engineers. Yesterday, the team also attended Morgan Sindall’s Vale of Glamorgan Careers Fair event in Barry, where we met with people and job seekers interested in a career in construction and organisations who support people back into work. #communityengagement
