Baltic Open Submission Exhibition 2024 in association with Fenwick is now open. Last Friday, we celebrated over 100 creatives from the North East with an exclusive artwork by Newcastle-born @jimmyturrell projected onto Baltic and turned the Gateshead Millennium Bridge Fenwick green.   Fenwick has always had a strong affinity with art. We have used art as a way to tell the story of our brand for over a century. The Baltic plays a role in the North East as a ‘meeting place, a site for connections between artists and the public’ just as we at Fenwick are proud of the role we play at the heart of communities. Manager Academy Team Leader Graduation Congratulations to our retail Team Leaders who are graduating from our pioneering Manager Academy programme! In 2023, Team Leaders from across our nine stores enrolled in a bespoke internal fast-track development programme. Held over 16 weeks, the initiative saw participants complete a blended learning course underpinned by a learning journal with the aim of developing the foundational skills required for first line management. Our 47 Team Leaders across 6 cohorts have embraced every element of the programme, and we are so proud of all the dedicated work, peer support, and the collaborative approach we observed. The end of the programme saw all those who completed the course recognised at a Graduation Ceremony hosted by our very own restaurant teams. Fenwick and Greggs, the talk of the Toon! We're collaborating with fellow North East powerhouse to unveil Bistro Greggs at Fenwick Newcastle. Launching this Friday, Bistro Greggs will offer a fine-dining experience by taking Greggs menu icons and enhancing them through Fenwick's culinary flair. The Festive Bake with Duck-Fat Roasties, Sprouts and Chestnut anyone? Yes please! Fenwick wins Best Department Store Group at the Excellence in Housewares Awards. We are very proud of all our colleagues whose hard work has led to this wonderful achievement. Helen Miller, Buyer Cook & Dine,Mel Cassell, Buying Manager and Andrew Giles, Buying Manager were delighted when they were presented with the award. Helen shared her reaction to winning the award in the Progressive Housewares magazine: “Wow! The team and I were absolutely thrilled to have won. To be nominated is a privilege, to reach the final was incredible, but to go on and win the award is amazing and great recognition for all. Thank you to all the suppliers for voting for us, and to the brilliant team at Fenwick for all their hard work. Sharing some Christmas magic…This year Fenwick brings The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis to life in our 2023 Christmas Window. The fantastical world of Narnia was unveiled in Newcastle on Sunday evening, in front of children and families from Fenwick’s partner schools, hospitals and charities, as well as competition winners. Today, Fenwick launches its first ever ad campaign, with the tagline Quiet No More. The campaign welcomes in a new era for Fenwick and marks the start of its brand evolution. The campaign will be seen across the UK from Edinburgh to Bristol and Birmingham to London with the images designed for maximum impact. The campaign will be experienced across billboards from Old Street Roundabout and Edinburgh Picardy Place to Dalston Junction, through underground station takeovers, across the public transport network, and on the ground via guerilla activity.
