    Are We Putting Local Bakeries Out of Business?    Over the years, our founder, Emily Caron, has been asked this question a lot. People often assume that any online bread service is somehow in competition with their local independent bakeries. But that couldn’t be further from the truth! We LOVE local bakeries. The smell of fresh bread, the feel of a warm, crusty loaf – there’s nothing quite like it. We even wrote a blog about the best bakeries in Islington to show our appreciation for how much they contribute to our communities. But sometimes, getting to your local bakery is a challenge.   💭 Our biggest competitors? Supermarkets, not local bakeries. According to a survey conducted for us by Founders Makers, most of our « potential » customers grab their loaves from supermarkets for convenience. 🛒   Here’s what we bring to the table (or 𝑏𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑑𝑏𝑜𝑎𝑟𝑑): 📦 Convenience: Sliced bread in freezer-friendly packaging for ultimate ease without compromising on quality. 🕒 Accessibility: Available when you 𝑘𝑛𝑒𝑎𝑑 it, even if you can't make it to your favourite local bakery. 💛 Supporting Local: We’re not replacing your weekend trip to the local bakery; we’re here to complement it. Get your artisanal bread from the bakery on Saturday, and grab a convenient, high-quality loaf from us during the week when you need it.   This sentiment isn’t unique to us. Charlie Hanks, who works for Bold Bean Co | B Corp™, also faced the dilemma of whether launching into supermarkets would overshadow independent stores. But just like us, she realised that it wasn’t about taking away from local businesses – it was about complementing them. We also love supporting the work of Chris Young and his amazing efforts with the #RealBreadCampaign to promote real, quality bread.     How strong is a brand when it can sample 22,840 chilled cheesecake mochi in winter during a storm? Pretty damn strong if you're Little Moons 🍡. Capitalising on the footfall of Christmas markets, festive shoppers and consumers in an indulgent mindset, the design team at Founders Makers made sure the visuals were simple and clean but high impact. It helped that we fitted-out Lola - our new custom sampling van - but the pull of Little Moons' new product is so strong and the brand is so recognisable that the queues were non-stop. As well as the campaign stats below, we estimate approximately 840,000+ other vehicles saw the Little Cheesecake Truck on the road (and that's only counting 1x person per vehicle) between Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham and London. 3x cities. 22,840+ samples. 22,500+ engagements. 31,000+ interactions. #experiential #sampling #brandactivation
