On Thursday 11 July, all six members of the Group Operating Executive (GOE), three members of the Bailey family and 22 London based colleagues undertook the London Bridges Charity Challenge. The team took to the pavements of London to walk 15 miles, following the path of the River Thames and crossing 16 of London’s most historic bridges along the way. The team raised vital funds for The Brain Tumour Charity, an organisation dedicated to saving lives and funding research to fight brain tumours. To date, they have raised a staggering £9,858, a fantastic 179% of their original target! All monies raised will be matched by NG Bailey. On 21 September, Mark Kelly, Senior Operations Director in our Freedom business will take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. Together with a team of colleagues from across the NG Bailey Group and established clients, as well as a key member of his clinical team, he is hoping to complete the route in under 10 hours. For those who don’t Mark, in 2021 he suffered a life changing accident and in 2022 he became a below knee amputee. Mark and the team are hoping to raise money for a number of charities from this challenge, which include the NHS Derby Royal Hospital Amputation Rehabilitation Centre, Blesma, the charity for limbless veterans, mental health charity, Combat Stress, and a local self-funded junior football team, Tansley JFC. Next week will see Anthony Bruney, Account Director, and Matt Gray, Head of Hard Services, from our Facilities Services business, tackle the National Three Peaks Challenge. Paul Gilbert, Property Services Manager, will also be supporting Anthony and Matt and undertaking the driving duties for the trip. The challenge has been organised by our client Meadowhall and will see Anthony and Matt join colleagues from Churchill Contract Services and British Land to collectively raise money for charities Walking With The Wounded and The Eden Dora Trust for Children with Encephalitis.
