We are delighted Durham County Council's Planning Committee has endorsed the plans for the regeneration of Prince Bishops' Place shopping centre in the heart of Durham City Centre. The scheme offers a unique opportunity to not only secure the sustainable future of the shopping centre, but also strengthen the vitality and viability of Durham City Centre more widely and create a vibrant destination where people will want to spend time. Importantly, it will also improve the overall design and appearance of the centre and make a far more positive contribution to the historic character of Durham City. #planning #Durham #regeneration #sustainble #destination Citrus Group Lichfields UK https://bit.ly/3WcB63r

Today, the Galliard team proudly donned their favourite jeans to support Jeans for Genes Day! By wearing denim, we’re raising awareness and funds for children affected by genetic disorders. 1 in 10 families in the UK are affected by a genetic condition, with some conditions apparent at birth and others diagnosed at different stages of childhood, adolescence and adulthood. A genetic condition has a profound impact on individuals and their families and fundraising is vital to ensure the right support is accessible to everyone who needs it. Together, we can make a difference and support groundbreaking research and vital services for these brave kids and their families. Thank you to everyone who participated and showed their support! #JeansForGenes #SupportResearch #TeamSpirit

A huge well done to Team Galliard – Greg Crowhurst, Matt Bradley, Lloyd Adams and Conor Scanlan – who participated in the JLL Property Triathlon at Dorney Lake on Friday 28th June! The team raised £2,370 for Place2Be, the UK's leading school-based mental health charity which provides support to children, families and school-based staff when they need it most. One in five children and young people now have a diagnosable mental health issue. That’s six children in every classroom with a condition such as depression or anxiety. Please help us support Place2Be’s vital work, and together we can make a real difference to children's mental health and ensure that children don’t have to face mental health problems alone. If you would like to donate, please do so here: https://lnkd.in/ef_ZyDc3

We are pleased to have secured planning content for an 836-bed purpose-built student accommodation scheme in Selly Oak, Birmingham with Apsley House Capital PLC. The approved scheme will breathe new life back into this vacant brownfield site and provide significant community benefits. The site will also incorporate 13,688 sq. ft. of commercial space and a 13,374 sq. ft. medical centre, as well as excellent amenities including study areas, lounges, a gym and a cinema. Richard Jenkins, Head of Sustainability & Urban Development at Galliard Homes said: “We are very pleased to have secured yet another planning consent in Birmingham. This scheme will create a vibrant hub on this derelict island site in Selly Oak by opening up the area with the removal of obstructive retaining walls, reinstating the high street along Bristol Road, and providing health care for the community. The close collaboration between our planning and architecture advisors and Birmingham City Council officers ensured an excellent result at planning committee.” Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/d_jtrhGb
