GBRf’s team of 1,300 people operate over 1,100 trainloads a week, moving over 20% of Britain’s rail freight with 99% reliability. GBRf’s Train Managers are in charge of our fleet of 100 locomotives and over 1,000 wagons, transporting goods for customers including E.ON, Network Rail, EDF Energy, Sibelco, Merrill Lynch, Tarmac, Drax and Crossrail Ltd. GBRf’s specialist teams design transport answers for industry leaders in the coal, biomass, intermodal, infrastructure, petrochemical, construction, aggregates and automotive markets. A project and opportunity assigned to myself which was grabbed with both hands, and I was keen to deliver to the best of my ability. Having to liaise with a third party company, learn a complete new route, deliver briefs and training to numerous drivers within my team and then drive a road learning engine to get them all up to speed and competent. As always with any project, it wasn’t straight forward. Thank you to Mark Laverick and Northern for helping me get over the first hurdle with the route sign off. Last Sunday the first train arrived on time at Battersby and successfully made it into the worksite ready to commence the blockade between Battersby and Glaisdale. Another blockade completed successfully and professionally with a glowing reference from the customer on how all staff on site throughout the week were very helpful. This gives me great satisfaction that all the hours and hard work has paid off. Well done to everyone involved 🚂👏🏼 GB Railfreight Network Rail #gbrf #theeskvalleyline #networkrail
