An award winning walking and wayfinding app to help you discover walks, create your own and share outdoor adventures
About us
We are nature-loving Londoners and city dwellers who don’t go to the gym, sit at our desks all day for work, have young families and who love exploring our local areas. After discussing how hard it is to discover nice places to have short and long walk in nature, with friends and family, we wanted to create something that would help us get off our bums and be inspired by the great outdoors. Go Jauntly is an app where you can find local walks and create your own, maintain physical health and mental wellness and share your mini adventures with your friends.

The guardian has declared us 'idiot-proof'! An important accolade indeed 😍
A nice surprise this morning🌅 to see my project – the GM Ringway, Greater Manchester's 200-mile walking👣 trail –featured in The Guardian📰! The write-up focuses on Stage 16 of the trail, from Wigan to Leigh - where I happened to be yesterday with Steph Hepworth from Nature North. This is a really lovely section of the trail, passing through the National Nature Reserve managed by Lancashire Wildlife Trust and Wigan Council. Great publicity📢 for Greater Manchester's heritage🏰, nature🍂 and sustainable tourism🕶 offering! And a positive mention for our app partner: Go Jauntly - a walking and wayfinding app. https://lnkd.in/epdG2Tbe #tourism #heritage #nature #GreaterManchester #SustainableTourism #travel #PR #VisitManchester #walking Marketing Manchester Greater Manchester Combined Authority Natural England Nick Brooks-Sykes Richard Walker Hana Sutch

👋 Hello you! Have a little walking break today. At Go Jauntly, we’re obsessed with helping people embrace the power of micro-walks. Research shows that even short bursts of time outdoors, as brief as 10 minutes, can have meaningful impacts on mental and physical health. 🌳 In a world where free time feels scarce, small moments spent in nature can boost wellness and bring much-needed calm. Let’s make time for these mini escapes! #MicroWalks #MentalHealth #Wellbeing https://lnkd.in/eQh4MAtd

How cool is this?!
😱 Head is in a bit of a spin. Actual national treasure, Clare Balding (British broadcaster, author, and campaigner for better coverage of women's sports) had the most loveliest and wonderful things to say about Go Jauntly - a walking and wayfinding app which exclusively features the incredible 200mile walk around Greater Manchester, the GM Ringway. 💚 The stunning walk envisioned by the ever-inspiring Andrew Read moves through 10 boroughs, has endless greenspaces, waterways and countryside views. There’s also a fab selection of short walks and step-free options so there’s a jaunt for everyone. Head to the Go Jauntly app to check it out. 💫 Clare Balding on Go Jauntly: "the app is really good, very very user friendly with photos and all sorts to make sure you know you're in the right place". BOOM! 🎧 Into walking and the health and wellness benefits? Check out the Ramblings podcast on BBC Sounds: https://lnkd.in/ebXmMxYs 😘 Obviously as with all of our work, it was a massive collaborative effort and there was so many organisations and people involved such as The Ramblers CPRE The countryside charity Heritage Lottery Fund and many others such as Alasdair Forman Claudette Anderson (she/her) Hannah Lomax plus countless volunteers. Big respect to the amazing PR guru Roz Hughes who absolutely nailed this feature. #walking #walkinguk #activetravel #publictransport #sustainabletransport

The very very sad fact is that we are living through systems collapse right now. The more we can do to change our own behaviour such as ditching the car for short trips and walking more and connecting with everyday nature and supporting your local community in these endeavours, the bigger and better the ripple effect. P.S We do need to End Fossil Finance, End Fossil Fuel Insurance (and the rest) x P.P.S Thanks so much for sharing this important post Alex Robinson 💚🌎
𝗔 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗽𝗽 𝗵𝗶𝘁 𝗻𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗽𝗽 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁. 🔥 This is climate crisis as the new normal. I'll be honest, I found this news incredibly depressing. Watch Duty is an app which streams live from wildfire cameras and gives users valuable info about things like wind speed. • It hit number 1 on the US free app store chart last month. • It's had about 3 million downloads. • Did I mention it's depressing? I mean, kudos to the app makers (led by John Clarke Mills). This is valuable, life-saving information. 🙌 And I get that there's more to wildfires than a changing climate. But I find it terrifying that this could be the most popular app in the world's most powerful country. That this is the innovative product people are looking for. It's yet another reminder to do everything we can now, to empower everyone to take action (and to feel empowered in the process). Imagine a world where the top app is something like Go Jauntly - a walking and wayfinding app - more "take a nice walk in nature" than "make sure you don't burn to a crisp in it". P.S. If you want a deep dive into wildfires, I strongly recommend John Vaillant's brilliant book 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘞𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳. 📖 ++ P.P.S. I'm CEO of environmental charity Hubbub. We create campaigns with business, government and civil society that inspire environmental action. The Greater Manchester Ringway - a walking route that encircles Manchester - is a beautiful example of how gazillions of partners can work together, driven by the passion and expertise of the 3rd Sector and unpaid technicians (aka volunteers), and by businesses & local authorities who understand and value their work. We don't need to struggle to imagine a more sustainable future for our towns and cities, we just need to look for the people already pioneering that vision Which city is going to be next? #TheRaceIsOn UK100 Go Jauntly - a walking and wayfinding app CPRE The countryside charity Listen now to Clare Balding off on a rambling...

Mapping our feelings to find inner peace? Sounds tricky, right? Scientists have brewed up all sorts of methods (check out the URL below), but we humans have our own way of knowing what feels just right. It’s that special feeling of warmth, calm, and safety – like a perfect cup of tea – that's tranquillity. 🍵✨ And here’s the tea: Researchers from the University of Southampton in partnership with Tranquil City, have created a ‘tranquillity index’ to help find this elusive feeling on daily walks or bike rides for their residents and visitors! 🚶♀️🚴♂️ This index is now part of the Clean Air Routes website, launched with Southampton City Council, Tranquil City, and Go Jauntly - a walking and wayfinding app. 🌿✨ Imagine expanding this index to National Trust sites, English Heritage spots, or the stunning Jurassic Coast (lovingly cared for by the Jurassic Coast Trust) 🏞️ A true guide to ‘feeling’ our way to peaceful places. 🗺️🌄 Guaranteed to steep your soul in serenity! #Tranquility #CleanAirRoutes #seeabetterplace 🍃🌟 What areas do you think this could be applied to as well?
