Modular Cleanroom Cells at the Hamlyn Centre for Robotic Surgery. ⏺️ Client: Hamlyn Centre for Robotic Surgery ⏺️ Location: UK ⏺️ Industry: Biomedical Research In a partnership with Imperial College London's Hamlyn Centre for Robotic Surgery, Monmouth Scientific delivered a Modular Cleanroom, advancing research in medical robotics and sensor technology. ➡️ Challenge: The Hamlyn Centre required a highly controlled, contamination-free environment to assemble medical robots and work on sensory implants, such as Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) technologies. This demanded a cleanroom solution that met stringent cleanliness standards while facilitating complex research processes. ➡️ Solution: The Monmouth Scientific team installed an 8m x 4m ISO Class 7 Modular Cleanroom. HEPA filtration technology ensures a positive pressure environment, filtering air at 99.997% efficiency for particles as small as 0.3 microns. The cleanroom was equipped with a UV-filtered lighting and window system to protect sensitive ongoing processes. ➡️ Impact: Modular Cleanrooms are proving vital across the life sciences sector, ensuring sterility in environments where the smallest contaminant can compromise sensitive research.
