    The 2024 NFL London Games had some incredible stand out moments – the dramatic game sealing interception from the Vikings, a historic first punt return TD outside of the US at Wembley and an iconic English tea drinking Chicago Bears celebration. But beyond the field the NFL reached further than ever before, including stories that we at Hanover Sport proudly delivered.   Just days before the final game, the Prince of Wales visited a local community event hosted by the NFL Foundation UK. The organisation, now in its third year, tackles inequality faced by young people in the UK and is the first international NFL charitable arm. The NFL are rightly proud of the Foundation work and showcasing it to Prince William was an iconic moment that delivered blanket and trending coverage, all which was bang on message.     The NFL Academy, based in Loughborough, provides international student athletes aged 16-19 with pathways in further education and a route to play NCAA College Football in the US. Hanover Sport were tasked with building excitement for their game against De La Salle, where Jacksonville Jaguars legend Maurice Jones Drew learned his trade. We hosted over 40 media at the game and connected the up and coming athletes to over 10 media titles, who outlined the inspiration and life-changing opportunities the NFL Academy was providing them. This secured coverage in some of the biggest publications, including an in depth hero feature in the Guardian showcasing the journey for the next generation of superstars.    Some of those superstars could well end up representing nations at the next Olympic games in Los Angeles. NFL Flag, the league’s non-contact youth flag football programme, is currently played in 650 schools across the UK, by more than 60,000 participants. Our role is to educate media and audiences by amplifying the visiting team’s flag owned activations in the country and celebrating the inaugural NFL Flag Continental Series Europe at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The buzz of Flag is growing, helped by broader coverage and under the skin in depth interviews.    The London Games always brings an American Football festival vibe to town but beyond the glitz it is the opportune time to amplify the really important work the NFL does throughout the year. Our proudest work in collaboration with NFL UK and Ireland is often around growing the game and creating real change and 2024 was by the best so far.

    It was an absolute honour to receive my DBE from HRH The Prince of Wales yesterday. You always get asked "what did he say"...no-one would be surprised to learn that we talked about sport!! We chatted about his incredible ball throwing skills at the NFL UK event he attended the day before (coincidentally supported by my new team at Hanover Communications), football, the growth and success of women's sport, and, since it was in the news, the appointment of the new England manager. I suspect we could have chatted for longer... but there was a long queue behind 😂 It was a lovely occasion and I am very grateful to have been able to share it with my family.

    In recognition of World Food Day, we are pleased to be partnering with Cherry, AXON and Madano to collect donations for Southwark Foodbank. Last night, we all joined together for a pub quiz to raise awareness of the valuable work Southwark Foodbank does in supporting our local community year round.

    Today is World Food Day, an international day dedicated to addressing global hunger and promoting food security. This year's theme, "Right to Food for a Better Life and a Better Future," emphasises the need for affordable and accessible food for all. In support of this mission, we have partnered with AXON, Hanover and Madano to collect food for our local community through Southwark Foodbank. Thank you to our CSR team for organising last night’s pub quiz which raised awareness of the impact that Southwark Foodbank makes in supporting our local community. In 2022/23, 2.3 million people relied on foodbanks, and with the ongoing cost of living crisis and prevailing food poverty, this issue is more pressing than ever. By coming together and contributing to initiatives like this, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing food insecurity, ensuring a better life and a brighter future for all. #WorldFoodDay #BetterLife #BetterFuture #FoodSecurity #QuizNight

    TOUCHDOWN! It’s that time of the year again - the NFL has arrived in town, taking over London for three weekends! In the run up to the opening game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the Hanover Sport team worked closely with NFL UK, the Minnesota Vikings and New York Jets to support with fan events and media opportunities to engage newcomers and mainstays of the sport, alongside, ensuring the media function for Practice and Game Days runs.   The team are privileged to work with incredible clients who make the journey as easy as possible and that in turn enables them to deliver innovative and creative stories that are exciting for a broad mix of media.   For example, they managed 119 different media across the Vikings and Jets practices and delivered a pitch side experience that few would have had before. With the teams in town, national and lifestyle opportunities were secured including, Evening Standard, Men’s Health, SheerLuxe and The Guardian, to broaden the fanbase.   The celebration of NFL culture is what draws fans from all over the world to London, and through fan events put on by Vikings and Jets journalists from a range of national, lifestyle and American football titles attended. On top of this interviews were facilitated with alumni talent for youth titles - Channel 4.0, Mixtape Madness, Street Interviews - alongside features in key sport titles like, Sky Sports.   Once Game Day arrived the focus is on delivering a first class media experience working hand-in-hand with the NFL UK and also US representatives. This includes media and press conference management, as well as liaising with key partners, including talkSPORT for celeb interviews to capture the excitement from the day.     The team get to use their passion for sport and cultural storytelling to deliver content and coverage to introduce new audiences to the sport. There are two more games to go, and the team cannot wait to continue driving excitement for the sport across all types of media. #NFLUK #NFLLondonGames
