Which MPs have promised to #MakeHealthEqual? ✍️ Earlier this week, we were in Parliament to launch our Parliamentary Champions Network – a new group of MPs who promise to bring health to the heart of government and do more to tackle health inequalities. Alongside many others, it was fantastic to be joined by the Minister for Public Health and Prevention, Andrew Gywnne MP. Find out more about the network here. ⤵️ https://bit.ly/3NSLHf8

Fantastic to be at the launch of the Health Equals Parliamentary Champions Network hosted by Emma Lewell Buck MP and joined by like-minded individuals and organisations committed to tackling health inequalities and narrowing the health gap. We heard from Minister for Public Health Andrew Gwynne who spoke passionately about creating a society where everyone has the same chance of good health and a long life. The #MakeHealthEqual campaign highlights the shocking impact of factors such as income, housing and air quality on life expectancy - finding that where you’re born can cut your life short by up to 16 years. School-Home Support practitioner Daniel Hinnigan was invited as one of the campaign's advocates, to talk about our work and share his frontline experience of the impact of health inequality. We’ve been at the Houses of Parliament today to launch the Health Equals Parliamentary Champions Network – a new group of MPs who will campaign alongside us to #MakeHealthEqual. What does it mean in practice? We know that to tackle health inequalities effectively, we need to put health at the heart of government. As members of the network, MPs promise to ensure action on the building blocks of health is front and centre in national policymaking. From Emma Lewell-Buck MP to Afzal Khan MP, Andrew Gwynne MP and Beccy Cooper MP, see who is backing our campaign so far. ⤵️ https://bit.ly/3NSLHf8

Earlier in the summer, we took our #MakeHealthEqual campaign across the UK. Now we're taking it back to Parliament. As a result of your campaigning, the new government has committed to halve the gap in healthy life expectancy between the richest and poorest regions. Tomorrow, we're heading to the Houses of Parliament to call on MPs to uphold their promise and champion our mission to tackle health inequalities. Stay tuned for more. 👀

There is a shocking difference in the UK’s average life expectancy of up to 16 years, depending on where you are born. Average life expectancy in Leeds is 75 years and Birmingham 76 years but Camden and Kensington are 90 years. Taking action on things we know shape our health; from quality homes that are warm and safe, to stable jobs, nutritious food, social connections, neighbourhoods with green space and clean air, can create a better future for everyone. This campaign for Health Equals involved 8 days travelling the country to capture 50 portraits of babies in their homes; all healthy, happy and equally loved but because they do not all have the key building blocks of health available to them, their futures could look drastically different. The new government has committed to halving the gap in life expectancy between the richest and poorest regions but there is a big event in Parliament on 6th November which we need MP's to attend. If you have 2 mins please complete the link below to help #MakeHealthEqual https://lnkd.in/e9k8dzQA An enormous thank you and well done to the team that made it happen. To be given the opportunity to produce such an important campaign using authentic photography is exactly the brief we love to take on here at Locate Productions. This year, we travelled across the UK talking to people about their health. It's clear that for many, they didn't realise that because of things like income, housing, and air quality where they live, their lives could be cut short by up to 16 years. Here's what they had to say. ⤵️ #MakeHealthEqual
