Last week, HIRANI had the pleasure of attending The Academy of Medical Sciences Cross Sector Programme event at the Swansea Stadium in Wales. For this event, the Academy of Medical Sciences partnered with the Life Sciences Hub Wales to present an event on ‘Cancer – Digital and Data’. This event brought together innovators and researchers from diverse careers and fields, to discover cutting-edge digital tools and data innovations transforming cancer care and highlighted the advantages of cross-sector collaboration and knowledge exchange, related to digital technologies and data science in cancer care. The need for all sectors to work together to create sustainable solutions, ultimately enhancing the quality of care across Wales and the UK, was emphasised. HIRANI has been chosen by the Academy of Medical Sciences to be the cross-sector innovation hub host for Northern Ireland and will be hosting three Cross-Sector Programme events in Northern Ireland in 2024 and 2025. The aim of these projects is to promote health innovation and support greater cross-disciplinary connectivity and collaboration between academia, industry, the NHS and policy makers. HIRANI Chief Operations Officer, Dr. Siobhan McGrath said of the event “I was very pleased to attend the Academy’s event in Wales in the Swansea Stadium, building connections across the UK for life science innovation. Developing on the work carried out by the Academy of Medical Sciences and the Life Sciences Hub Wales, HIRANI are delighted to announce our first Academy of Medical Sciences event is in planning, with announcements of details and dates to follow in the upcoming weeks.” Abigail Marklew Rachel Macdonald Leanne Price Colette Buckley Naomi Joyce Mike Handford Ronan Lyons vivek patkar Aime Kidner #science #innovation #health #collaboration
