This week, supermarket giants Lidl GB and Waitrose & Partners dropped two campaigns championing revival culture with pop idols S Club and Martine McCutcheon. For Lidl’s ‘Just a Lidl bit’, McCutcheon joined fellow icon Charity Shop Sue to perform a catchy tune to advertise the retailer’s Lidl Plus app. 📲 Meanwhile, Waitrose focussed on its new No.1 range using a remixed version of S Club’s ‘You’re My Number One’. The timing of the launches may be coincidental. Yet the clever hook onto ongoing nostalgic trends, is not. The supermarkets equally combine with glitz, glamour, and excitement. Which is your fave? It was a blast to join Clipper Teas in marking its 40th birthday in style. Celebrations included inspiring talks from the Soil Association, The Fairtrade Foundation, one of Clipper’s original founders – the formidable Lorraine Brehme – and the team who collaborate with tea estates to grow and blend the very best. It’s incredible to think Clipper has grown from two chests of Assam and Darjeeling Tea in 1984 to now being exported to 50 counties globally – all with the same ethics and passion from the first blend.
