This week marks Neurodiversity Celebration Week, a worldwide initiative that challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences. As part of a programme of events, we’ve curated a new YouTube playlist that has been screening across our offices. Featuring experts from Bupa, Unmind and TED, the videos highlight the benefits of embracing #neurodiversity, both across our workforce and in our daily design practices. Project Spotlight: Inventa. This major new purpose built scheme transforms a redundant retail unit and warehouse in #Oxford to create 65,000 sq ft of much needed #laboratory and #office space to support the burgeoning UK life sciences industry. Led by Mission Street and BGO, we worked alongside Owers Warwick Architects and a project team of Buro Four, Elliott Wood and Abakus Consulting, to deliver two floors of flexible, high end space that exceeds modern #sustainability standards. With an all-electric services design for the development, including heating and cooling, we are helping to ensure the building is futureproofed. Our #sustainability team worked with the design team and contractor to achieve #BREEAM Very Good. Over 8,000 sq ft of shared collaboration space encourages teamwork and innovation, as well as a publicly accessible café, improved landscaping and a new cycle centre. Inventa has been shortlisted for a 2025 British Council for Offices (BCO) Award in the Refurbished/Recycled Workplace category. 🏆 It was a fantastic win for our client Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) at last night’s CIBSE Building Performance Awards, taking home the top prize in the #Collaboration category for their groundbreaking Symphony Model. Hailed by the judges as “a game-changing tool for optimising building performance”, Hilson Moran’s Operational Buildings team have been working closely with LGIM to provide technical support, alongside Demand Logic, Bellrock Group and other partners. Through a suite of tools and processes, the Symphony Model brings together #facilities managers, M&E suppliers, tenants, and consultants to strive towards a shared vision. Symphony is currently live in 26 properties across LGIM’s portfolio and has saved over 2 million kwh of electricity since it’s full launch in 2022. In our latest blog, Sian Grimsley, an Environmental Consultant based in our #Manchester office, shares her journey studying for a Master's Degree alongside her work here at Hilson Moran. Sian started an Air Pollution Management & Control MSc at the University of Birmingham in 2023, supported by Hilson Moran with tuition coverage and flexible work arrangements. Her dissertation, which compared traditional and AI-driven modelling methods for air pollution, allowed Sian to dive deep into the science behind dense urban environments, and even apply her findings to ongoing projects at Hilson Moran. If you're looking to further your career, or tips on how to balance study and work, Sian's blog offers practical insights and inspiration from someone who’s successfully made it work! 🔗 Check out the full post here: https://lnkd.in/eQJm_MDN #AirQuality #EnvironmentalScience #CareerDevelopment
