🚨 New Report: Strategic insights for Scotland’s Industrial Energy Transition IDRIC’s latest policy synthesis report, commissioned by the Scottish Government, highlights the urgent need for action and a comprehensive delivery plan for Scotland’s second-largest emissions source—industry. 🌱 🔍 Scotland’s industrial emissions must be reduced by 43% by 2032 to meet climate targets. 🏭 Transitioning to net zero can drive economic growth, create jobs, and attract green industries. The report collates insights from across policy areas. It was provided to Scottish Government to support policy-making and is now more widely available: https://lnkd.in/ejcBTbED Recommendations: ✔️ Invest in industrial fuel-switching and energy efficiency. ✔️ Engage UK policymakers to advance carbon capture, grid infrastructure and low-carbon markets. ✔️ Enhance planning and skills development. ✔️ Coordinate action across stakeholders and place-based investment for sustainable & inclusive change. As Dr Alasdair Allan, Acting Minister for Climate Action in the The Scottish Government, stated: “Delivering industrial decarbonisation must be a collective endeavour between government, industry, and academia.
