Today, some of the JTP team visited Queens Park Community School to talk about architecture and design, and we were blown away by the enthusiasm of the students! Their curiosity, perceptive questions, and eagerness to learn made for a fantastic session. A special highlight was the VR goggles! Seeing the students immerse themselves in the experience was a reminder of how powerful technology can be in sparking interest and innovation. Wow, it has been another fantastic year for JTP at the Planning Awards 2025 where four JTP projects are shortlisted across multiple categories including: Woodgate, Pease Pottage with Thakeham - Award for Best Housing Scheme (500+ homes) Syon Lane, Osterley with St Edward (Berkeley Group Plc) - Award for Best Housing Scheme (500+ homes) North Street, Guildford with St Edward (Berkeley Group Plc) - Award for Fostering a Healthy Town Centre - Award for Best Housing Scheme (Fewer than 500 homes) Poplar Riverside with St William (Berkeley Group Plc) - Best Use of Brownfield Land in Placemaking An incredible array of great placemaking, design and collaboration. Building on the momentum and planning approval for Phase 1 in December 2023, the next milestone in JTP’s continued work with Dunmoore at the Wireless Factory has been achieved with a second unanimous planning approval for Phase 2 of the project. This major achievement marks the exciting next step in transforming the iconic Roberts Radio factory site with Phase 2 featuring 71 new homes, amenity assets including a rooftop terrace and ground-level gardens and enhanced landscaping to promote biodiversity net gain, with an urban greening score of 0.4. Last week, the JTP team had the pleasure of hosting students from The Bartlett School of Planning UCL with Berkeley Group Plc for a site visit at The Green Quarter - one of London’s most ambitious regeneration projects. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase how large-scale urban transformation comes to life - from masterplanning to sustainability, placemaking, and community engagement. We had insightful discussions about the complexities of urban development, the importance of green infrastructure, and the role of planning in shaping vibrant, livable spaces. A weekend visit to York and the opportunity to see Cocoa Gardens progressing – and the homes are looking fantastic! Seeing our designs taking shape and coming to life on-site is always rewarding, and this project for Latimer by Clarion Housing Group is no exception. Built on the former Rowntree’s factory gardens, Cocoa Gardens features 302 dwellings in a range of sizes to introduce more family housing to the community. The streets and courtyards are really coming together, creating a welcoming and connected new neighbourhood within this historic setting. Being part of this cherished Yorkshire site is an honour, and JTP is proud to be contributing to its next chapter. Opening our studio doors to the next generation of talent is something we always value! Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from Liverpool John Moores University to our studio! JTP Associate Director Joseph Worrall, who led the transformation of our London studio in Wapping, took the students on a guided tour, sharing the remarkable story and journey of how we retrofitted a once-abandoned Grade II listed warehouse into the dynamic, creative space we proudly call home. Last week, JTP had the pleasure of welcoming Chris Gass, Acquisitions Director at Regal, to our lunchtime Soundbites session. Chris shared valuable insights into how Regal identifies and procures important sites, shedding light on the key factors that shape their decision-making process.
