We have been working on a beautiful project over this last year, which we're really proud to share. In an unprecedented collaboration, BBC Radio 6 Music DJ and psychotherapist Nemone Metaxas will join forces with the acclaimed Scottish Ensemble to present the groundbreaking triptych event: 'Balance Between the Waves', an immersive three-part experience at this year's Festival. These innovative events will explore how music influences the autonomic nervous system, harnessing the emotive power of sound to connect mind, body, and water like never before. Inviting the audience to embark on a journey through soundscapes and natural elements. This will feature live music from a string quartet, a DJ set and will culminate in an unforgettable lakeside experience on Lake Windermere. Tickets are live: https://lnkd.in/gimjcFi #sharetheadventure

We have just launched another outstanding line-up within our third wave of tickets for our November Festival. Here's a few to tease you with... New to the Festival will be an electrifying collaboration between BBC Radio 6 Music DJ Nemone and the Scottish Ensemble creating a three-tiered immersive experience to explore the connection between sound, body and water. A live Q&A session between elite climber James Pearson and esteemed climber and author Niall Grimes as they present James’ powerful biographical documentary ‘Walk of Life’, delving into the unseen struggles of athletes and the darker side of sport.   The full line-up for The Climb Session - Yosemite Special has been announced, in what promises to be a very special event. At the helm will be Pete Whittaker, no stranger to Yosemite climbing having made the first all-free rope-solo ascent of El Capitan. Pete will steer the conversation between a truly unique line-up of guests including Billy Ridal, Alex Waterhouse, Hazel Findlay, Leo Houlding and Jamie Logan. This year’s Below Zero Session features the incredible aspiring polar explorer Genevieve Brown who is aiming to be the first Aruban, and the first unassisted black woman to ski both the North and South Poles. Endurance athlete Jenny Tough will present her latest short film as she completed the Lapland Arctic Ultra, an ultra-race for runners, bikers, and skiers deep in frigid northern Sweden. Also on stage will be Ed Salisbury, Will Tucker and Jon Moy from the ‘Last Ride Project’, aiming to be first - and possibly the last - to climb and ski the tallest mountain on each continent. Comedian and presenter Clive Anderson will be hosting the eclectic BBC Radio 4 programme Loose Ends live at the Festival, in an edition that will celebrate everything outdoors. And turning to new media, George Lonsdale will host a panel discussion on the impact of social media around climbing, with Hannah Morris and Magnus Midtbø. The pioneers of the Right to Roam campaign will be onstage to talk about their visionary concept ‘Wild Service’. Blending science, nature writing and indigenous philosophy, this groundbreaking book calls for mass reconnection to the land and a commitment to its restoration. We hope you're able to join us... Today was an exciting day as we launched the 2024 Kendal Mountain Festival! Our annual festival celebrates adventure, culture, nature and exploration.  It will be taking place from the 21st - 24th November, and this year will be themed around ‘balance’. With the launch, comes the first wave of tickets, and a stellar lineup:  - The first female runner to complete one of the world’s toughest races, the Barkley Marathons, Jasmin Paris. - A special Climb Session dedicated to Yosemite climbing centred around Billy Ridal and Alex Waterhouse's phenomenal free ascent of The Nose on El Capitan, with further big guests to be announced.  - BBC’s presenter of The Sky at Night, Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock, who will be on stage demystifying the world’s most powerful space telescope. - The men behind Three Dads Walking - Mike Palmer, Andy Airey and Tim Owen, all recently appointed MBEs - will be on stage to talk about their incredible journey to walk 300 miles in memory of their young daughters, Sophie, Beth and Emily. Plus, get up close and personal with former UK Special Forces Soldier and the star of Channel 4’s SAS: Who Dares Wins, Jason Fox, talking about his life story and his latest book, Embrace The Chaos. The first wave of tickets also includes appearances by climbers Leo Houlding and Waldo Etherington with their latest film, Asgard Raw, and mountain runner Hillary Gerardi presenting her film, Always Alive. Whilst the full film programme will be live in October, tickets will go on sale for a small selection of feature films throughout July - September, including Climbing Mount Everest 1922. This will be a groundbreaking World Premiere of John Noel’s classic film accompanied by a newly commissioned film score, performed live in the venue by the composers Lee Affen and Ferenc Gyemant. We anticipate this year’s Festival programme to be our largest ever, with a second ticket wave going live in August, and a third wave in September. Tickets for feature films and film collections will go live in October after selection and judging has been finalised for the International Film Competition. #sharetheadventure https://lnkd.in/eJFpzEd9

Well what a gathering that was! I can truly say that this year's Kendal Mountain Festival run by our team here at Kendal Mountain Events was epic on all levels. The team are pretty exhausted as is to be expected after the energy required to run the show – but the positive feedback, letters of thanks and congratulations and this wee article in the GUARDIAN about 'Kendal' being a beacon for representation and change – makes us all very happy and energises us for the year ahead! I think we're getting plenty of things right these days, however in true 'Kaizen' style – we'll keep on striving for improvement. A huge thank you to the whole Festival collective - staff, brand Partners, organisations, guest speakers and ambassadors, supporters, volunteers and ticket buying, beer drinking, food munching lovely visitors who all contribute to make the event very special. The buzz around the town and venues was simply electric this year! We look forward to seeing you next November (21 – 24.11. 2024) or on one of our UK or Overseas Tours starting February 2024.
