Klyk's story began 30 years ago when Founder Asad Hamir's dad Zuli, bought the first computer in their household. Living close to the breadline, this was a big moment for the family. B Lab UK is still in its VERY early stages, and if you’re not a B-Corp, you’re missing out on one of the biggest business opportunities out there to get in at the ground floor. ✅ The community—a network of forward-thinking businesses making an impact who all want to help and support one another ✅ The mark of trust—giving your customers confidence in your commitment to better business ✅ The talent pull—attracting the best people who want to work for a company that actually cares The reason we’re seeing more B-Corps, big and small, is because the movement is creating a cultural shift in how businesses operate. We need to stop talking about exclusivity — & celebrate the growth of the movement. We could think of no better place to call home than the official hub for sustainable startups and scale-ups in London. 🚀 Today, we’re proud to announce the launch of our IT recycling service for businesses in London! When we started Klyk, we saw a critical gap to address the growing e-waste crisis: London had a lack of dedicated IT recycling facilities—bonkers, considering the estimated 5.3 million laptops owned in the capital. With the recycling rate for businesses in the UK at just 31%, we knew we had to think differently to tackle the problem effectively. Our hypothesis was simple: to improve recycling rates, we need to reduce the friction to recycle. That means making the process as straightforward as possible for businesses and ensuring it’s as financially rewarding as it is impactful. It’s been a really hard 5 months to get the recycling facility up and running, but now it is fully operational, offering businesses in London a variety of recycling options: 1️⃣ Recycle for maximum financial return – Extract value through repair, refurbishment, or recovering parts for resale. 2️⃣ Donate your IT to children below the digital poverty line – With 20% of children lacking access to the right tech to progress in life, donating your IT can provide meaningful support to bridge this gap and empower the next generation. 3️⃣ Or blend the two with a hybrid approach tailored to your goals.
