On World Mental Health Day, Legendre UK is once again embracing the opportunity to highlight the importance of mental health in the workplace. This year’s theme, Workplace Mental Health, resonates strongly with our commitment to fostering a supportive and open environment across all our sites 🏗️. Mental health should not be taken lightly, especially in the construction industry 👷♀️👷♂️, where balancing demanding work schedules and well-being can be a real challenge.   Over the years, the teams have worked hard to promote mental health and well-being and support each and every employee, through various initiatives implemented. From providing access to professional support 💡, to offering resources for anyone in need, Legendre is committed to fostering a workplace where everyone feels safe to speak up and seek help. Creating a supportive and open environment is something we all play a part in. 🤝   On 10th October, memo cards 📋 with useful contacts will be distributed on-site, along with toolbox talks to encourage open discussions 🗨️ about mental health. Last week, our project Forest Road has won the ‘Best First-Time Buyer Home’ at the Evening Standard New Homes Awards 2024! 🏆   The project was recognised for its thoughtful shared spaces, well-planned outdoor areas, and high architectural standards, making it an excellent choice for first-time buyers. [#WeAreLegendre] And that's 3️⃣! Yesterday, #GroupeLegendre held its third induction day for new employees. Newcomers from across France, as well as from the UK, Switzerland, and Portugal, took part in a full day of activities! The morning kicked off with a tour of the Group’s Head Office in Rennes, where they were introduced to the various departments that make up the company. After lunch, it was off to Bourgbarré 🏗️ to visit the industrial sites and the OMS workshops, the subsidiary specialised in steel structure, for a presentation of ongoing projects. To round off the day, Vincent Legendre, Chairman of the Management Board, and Guillaume Beghin, Human Resources Director, took the time to introduce the company and its history to the new team members. Back to School for our apprentices! 🎓   Legendre UK wants to wish a great start to the school year to our apprentices Dan Vincent and Raphaël Sossou, who came on board respectively four and two years ago.   At Legendre UK, significant emphasis is placed on the development and growth of young professionals. 💼 We aim to inspire future generations to explore careers within the construction and real estate sector by raising awareness of the various routes into the industry, including apprenticeship schemes, year placements, and internships. The team is eager to see how Dan and Raphael will advance and contribute to our ongoing projects and goals. Home stretch for Sheepcote Road! 🏗️   Exciting progress continues at Sheepcote Road, our project in Harrow, built on behalf of Pocket Living. Soon, around 150 one-bedroom flats will be available across two buildings of 5 and 8 storeys, connected by walkways and terraces, offering shared communal areas both on the ground floor and rooftop.   In the North Block, the team is reaching the finish line with the final external works, including balustrade installation on the staircases, terrace paving, and soft landscaping. As for the South Block, brickwork is now fully complete, and the dismantling the scaffolding have begun. In the communal areas, finishing touches are being added to the bridges, with doors and balustrades currently being installed. Our teams had quite a busy summer in #London, let’s catch up! ⏩ Work on Sheepcote Road went on well throughout the summer with the North Block nearing completion, and groundworks and landscaping progressing across the site. This development will house around 150 flats across two buildings of 5 and 8 storeys, linked by walkways and terraces. It will feature communal areas on the ground floor and rooftop, with a handover date scheduled later this year 📅. ⏩ Work has also started on two new projects in London, with the brickwork starting on The Heights, a 30,150 sq ft development near Charlton Station that will offer 48 apartments, and the opening just a few days ago of the second site named Peterborough Road, a 46,000 sq ft office development in Parsons Green. Stay tuned for more updates on these ventures soon😉 ⏩ We welcomed three newcomers in our London teams 👷♀️ We wish a warm welcome to Irene Karaisaia, Sandy Anani and Henna Shah. ⏩ 6 employees have successfully completed a 13-mile trek along the Thames Path in Windsor to support a charity. Congratulations to Cécilia Lemaire, Alexia Dieumegard, Tanguy Plouy, Gregor Speed, Mariana Silvestre, and Astrid Dazin for this achievement! ⏩ Not to mention our two employees who are now technical members of the CIOB. Congratulations to Mathieu Lafargue MCIOB and Raphaël Sossou for obtaining this well recognised accreditation. 👏 Congratulations to the teams for their involvement in all those projects!

🚀 Legendre UK at IMPACT UK 2024   We’re thrilled to share that our Head of Property Development, Nicolas Swiderski recently took part as a Co-Host in the Build Tribe session at this year's IMPACT UK event. 🏢 The session offered a deep dive into sustainable property development, focusing on the challenges of refurbishing and reusing existing buildings. 🏗️🔄   Alongside other industry experts, Nicolas discussed the challenges and opportunities in refurbishing, reusing, and repositioning existing buildings. The session explored strategies for aligning stakeholder interests, navigating the complexities of planning policies, and managing the inherent risks in refurbishment projects. It’s been a busy few months at Candour Properties following the acquisition of Grove House in Hammersmith and the former Diageo headquarters in Park Royal. We look forward to bringing new vibrant mixed-use schemes to both properties with a focus on minimising the environmental and carbon impact of the developments through the preservation of both properties.
