We have been appointed as lead contractor to build a new secondary school for the Department for Education in Grove, Oxfordshire! St John’s Academy, a £28.2m project for Vale Academy Trust, will be built alongside the already completed primary school in Grove on the Wellington Gate Development, and will be the first all-through school (Nursery to Year 11) in the local area, teaching around 600 pupils. Bouygues UK will use sustainable, low carbon materials as part of the build and John Boughton, Bouygues UK’s Managing Director for Wales and the South West, said the project is a significant one for the Bouygues UK team, which is committed to building sustainable, low carbon schools. John said, "Bouygues UK is dedicated to building low carbon, energy-efficient structures with sustainability at the centre and we’re so pleased to be building St John’s Academy CE. We loved supporting the Kensington Community & Schools (KCS ) Carnival Mas Band at this year’s Notting Hill Carnival alongside Peabody!   Throughout August, children from North Kensington and Wornington Green have been busy creating eco-friendly costumes, learning a choreographed dance, and mastering key phrases of their carnival song in British Sign Language. All this hard work was showcased at the carnival during the family day on 25th August in KCS's procession we were thrilled to sponsor.   The children designed their costumes themselves in workshops that have been taking place over the course of the summer, featuring their own creative artwork.   As we are currently on site delivering a huge regeneration scheme in Wornington Green, it has been incredible to see the sense of community this brought these young participants and it was particularly special to see the vibrant results of their efforts on the road!

Introducing this year's Graduate Challenge!   On 20th September, our team of graduates from across the Bouygues Group in the UK will embark on a 16-mile (25km) trek along the breath-taking Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its dramatic cliffs, ancient rock formations, and stunning sea views.   This hike is all in support of Social Bite’s mission to end homelessness. Social Bite is a pioneering movement dedicated to transforming lives by providing homes, jobs, food, and support to those in need. There is no doubt this challenge will push our graduates to their limits but it will be in the knowledge that the money they raise will play a big part in transforming the lives of countless individuals facing homelessness.   We wish them the best of luck!
