🏆 We are thrilled to announce that the Salvation Army THQ has won a BCIA Award! 🏆 The judges remarked on an "Excellent building with a close client relationship to develop the brief, producing a building that was designed with an emphasis on long life (ideally 120 years), was sensitive to the surroundings, light and airy for the staff and had good community engagement and input." This recognition highlights the dedication and collaboration of the entire team, and it’s an honour to see our work celebrated for its design and innovation. The Salvation Army THQ represents a project we are incredibly proud of, balancing functionality and sustainability with a space that truly reflects the values of The Salvation Army as an organisation and charity. Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this vision to life, but particularly to Davies Maguire for the nomination, McLaren Construction Group for hosting, and the BCIA for this amazing honour! #BCIAAwards #Architecture #Design #Teamwork #TateHindle
About us
We are architects and urbanists, design custodians of places where people can live, work and enjoy every shade of life in between. Our vision is to evolve every space, building or community we engage with for the better – for its people and for the planet. We believe that designing with optimism and innovation can bring about tangible change. By bringing together the best of the past with the hope of the new we can make architecture that works for the present, and remains sustainable well into the future. Our approach is built on trust, and the personal relationships we nurture with our collaborators. With them, we develop well thought through, robust ideas that we can all believe in, and sit at our clients’ side to bring them to fruition. We use design to solve non-design problems: we are as much economists, management consultants and negotiators as we are architects. Guided by a deep pool of collective knowledge and a portfolio of many interrelated building types, we use our personal ingenuity to add technical, material, commercial and aesthetic value. As TateHindle, we highly value our creative commons — the expertise, spirit and skills we have now shared as a practice for a generation. We continue to build on these good foundations with imagination because the more we evolve together, the better we become.

TateHindle are delighted to be shortlisted for Private Housing Architect of the Year 🎉🎉🎉 We love working collaboratively with clients and communities to explore opportunities to design distinctive, exciting and sustainable places that make a tangible difference to people’s lives. Wishing all shortlisted practices the best of luck!
TateHindle has been shortlisted for the Private Housing Architect of the Year Award. Earlier this year BD announced all the architects who made it on to the shortlists for our prestigious annual Architect of the Year Awards. Now we are shining the spotlight on each category in turn and publishing a selection of the images that impressed the judges. Beaulieu Keep, a new neighbourhood at Centenary Way in Chelmsford, incorporates over 30 different house types in five character areas inspired by the local vernacular of barns and farmsteads. Aura in Great Kneighton, Cambridge, delivers 600 homes, of which 40% are affordable. Brownfield developments of Wembley Park Gardens, a 450 home scheme in north London, and the Passivhaus Deben Fields in Felixstowe complete the entry. https://lnkd.in/em-N9aEX #architecture #AYAs #AYAs20in24

We're delighted to announce that our Salvation Army THQ has been shortlisted for an AJ Architecture Award! 🎉🎉🎉 In the words of Commissioner Anthony Cotterill from The Salvation Army: "It isn’t just about the building, it’s about the people that we will ultimately serve from here. It’s a spiritual building, it isn’t just another office block. It’s the place from whence the work of The Salvation Army is given oversight and direction right across the UK and The Republic of Ireland. So it’s my hope that this building will not only be a good place to work, but it will inspire and it will encourage.” #AJArchitectureAwards

Excited to share that The Salvation Army Territorial Headquarters has been shortlisted for an NLA Award in two categories: Wellbeing and Workplace! 🌿🏆 Staff wellbeing was at the core of our design, guided by WELL Building principles. We prioritised natural light, biophilic design, and thoughtful spatial planning to create an inspiring and healthy workspace. The atrium stair encourages movement, strategic glazing frames green views, and carefully located ‘neighbourhoods’ enhance connectivity and comfort. Quiet working zones were carefully positioned away from the active atrium, with meticulously planned acoustic solutions ensuring a calm atmosphere. The soft materials and natural colours create a warm, human feel throughout the space. Feedback from staff has been fantastic, highlighting the positive impact of the design on their daily experience. #NLAwards #Wellbeing #WorkplaceDesign

Here we go. Looking forward to working with Legendre UK at our next development in Parsons Green.
W.RE appoints construction firm Legendre UK on Parsons Green office scheme Construction firm Legendre UK has been appointed by developer W.RE and joint venture partner Taurus UK to lead the development of a new 46,000 sq ft high-quality office scheme at 14-16 Peterborough Road in London’s Parsons Green following a single-stage tender. Designed by TateHindle architects, the proposed sustainable commercial office development will feature six floors of flexible office and amenity space, spanning from the basement to the fourth floor. The building will include accessible roof terraces on the third and fourth floors, with planting across levels two to four. Fitted out to CAT A specification, the new building will emphasise sustainability with a robust, independent energy strategy, including air source heat pumps, PV panels, and abundant natural light. The site will be delivered in line with W.RE’s commitment to sustainability through design, ensuring that the building is built to last and equipped to meet future demands. These high sustainability criteria are aligned with the growing tenant demand for high-quality office spaces. The project will involve the demolition of the existing office block on site, with the new development retaining the existing party walls and targeting BREEAM Excellent. Situated in the heart of Parsons Green, the building offers Southwest London residents high-quality, well-connected office space, catering to the growing demand for workspaces within walking distance of home and local amenities. https://lnkd.in/eHs7RJ_5

Terrazzo flooring with exposed structural concrete and glulam gives the Salvation Army’s HQ addition to its London campus an appropriate modesty, with a calm Scandi feel to its showpiece atrium, writes Pamela Buxton https://ow.ly/iMev50RO8xj
