Leumi ABL is pleased to have led on the completion of a £93m refinancing package to evo Group, alongside Close Brothers Invoice Finance. evo is a provider of integrated and value-add fulfilment services, enabling its CEO Andrew Gale to lead a management buy-out of the company. This deal marks evo's third transaction with Leumi and second with Close. As part of the transaction, the syndication has provided a £80m invoice finance facility and £13m in term loans, with an initial term of four years. Andrew Gale, evo CEO, said: “The evo business has made major strides over the last couple of years and we are excited about the opportunities ahead. This refinancing and transaction unlock the opportunity for evo to take on fresh investment to support our ambitions in terms of product and geographical expansion, all within a balanced multi-sales channel model. During the webinar, Jonathan shared his insights into the evolution of the asset-based lending (ABL) market over the past five years including: 📊 How total funds drawn across the ABL market remained consistent at £24bn from September 2019 to September 2024. 📉How the number of ABL clients decreased from 39,000 to 33,000, reflecting a strategic shift among lenders to focus on mid-market and mature companies rather than startups and very small SMEs. 📈 How the number of client companies with turnovers exceeding £100m increased by 20%, showing that ABL is increasingly utilised by larger, successful businesses.
