It’s no secret that mental health challenges are more prevalent in construction than in any other industry. Alarmingly, the suicide rate for men in construction is 75% higher than across the general population. Construction presents a unique set of challenges that can push a person to their limits—both physically and mentally. From the strain of on-site logistics to the pressure of meeting project deadlines, the demands can take a significant toll on mental well-being. These factors need to be addressed to combat this silent killer. At Loughton Contracts, we are deeply committed to supporting the mental health of our team. WE ARE HIRING!!! - QUANTITY SURVEYOR We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our successful Canary Wharf team. In this role, you will act as a Quantity Surveyor, responsible for accurately managing project costs from inception to completion, including cost reporting and cash flow management. You will collaborate closely with our Sales/Estimating and Delivery teams, as well as with main contractors and the supply chain, to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on project profitability while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. You will be joining an established business with over 30 years of experience in flooring, working alongside Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors on key projects within the commercial, end-user, construction, and residential sectors. Our Canary Wharf division is growing year on year, with exciting potential for this role to evolve as the division expands. Working alongside workplace specialist Maris Interiors, the Loughton Canary Wharf Division supplied and installed new floor finishes throughout. We’ve already challenged our screed team to put this capability to the test, reaching an incredible milestone – as we begin pumping screed to the top of a 52-storey residential block on Canary Wharf. This achievement will mark the highest point at which liquid screed has been pumped in the UK to date, setting a new standard in the construction industry.
