Images taken of the recently completed Turner Prize project at Tate. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Turner prize with the first prize being awarded back in 1984. This is MCD Heritage's 21st year supporting the Turner Prize exhibition builds and it’s an honour to continue to be part of such an incredible exhibition.   The exhibition showcases work from Pio Abad, Claudette Johnson, Jasleen Kaur and Delaine Le Bas who are the four artists shortlisted for this year's prize, which runs from the 25th of September until the 16th of Feb 2025. The winner is announced on the 3rd of December 2024.   This impressive project involved the reconfiguration of the gallery walls, full redecoration of the space, construction of bespoke plinths and showcases, and the installation of low-level lighting, to display the artwork. Images taken of the recent Estate Fit out project completed by MCD Heritage as part of the British Film Institute (BFI) ongoing Estate improvement strategy. This latest stage saw MCD Heritage as the main contractor working closely with De Matos Ryan Architects and Avison Young │ UK, carrying out a full refurbishment of the main foyer. The footbridge across Waterloo Bridge runs along the site adding to the complexity and specific structural requirements of the project. A new maintenance platform was installed, the existing drainage system was upgraded, and four bespoke fire compartments were created, allowing the new space to move independently of Waterloo bridge and pedestrian stairwells. Our team of specialist tradespeople completed this task in a tight 8-week programme. Care was taken to preserve as many of the existing features as possible and specialist techniques were employed to incorporate the old concrete walls into the newly designed space. In addition, the team refurbished the “Green room” where VIPs are hosted, constructed new toilets and installed two bespoke oculus ceiling features. In this role, you'd sit within our busy Commercial team playing a vital part in assessing the cost and feasibility of projects. Your expertise in estimating costs and analysing drawings and specifications will contribute to the successful restoration and preservation of some high-profile heritage sites. We would look to you to have a good understanding of projects from inception to delivery, allowing you to lean in and assist the Operations team when required. Yesterday members of MCD Heritage took part in our first volunteering day - 'Heritage Gives Back' - supporting the Brixton Soup Kitchen (BSK). The team from across our head office in Bolney and operations team in Milbank, London were involved with clearing out the garden to make room for a fund raiser, and making a home-made curry for lunch, all with locally sourced and donated produce. The team thoroughly enjoyed the day and met some amazing people, a truly humbling experience for all and one to remember! #communityengagement #socialimpact #volunteering

MCD Heritage were recently commissioned by UNIFY Experiences to dress the Headquarters of Monzo Bank for their Brand Week Internal Event. All arranged to coincide with the launch of their new look Advertising Campaign. We designed and built a large 10m wide backdrop to their Event Presentation space incorporating their own in-house giant presentation screens and sound system. This Event Space was accessed by staff through a custom-built Brand Week Entrance Arch wrapped in large format graphics. Both of these elements, although originally designed for this one event, were liked so much the decision was made to keep them in place as a permanent installation. MCD Heritage covered the rest of Monzo HQ with 300 'Sparkle Star' window vinyls, 120 Brand Week posters, flags and table cards. We also supported their 'Attributes Interactive Challange' by creating a trail of freestanding displays and 450 digitally printed score cards. All produced with the Monzo trademark 'Hot Coral Pink' colour and radius corners. Great work team! #fitout #design #graphicdesign

A team shot of MCD Heritage and Grosvenor racing in the recent Grosvenor Dragon Boat Challenge, held at a sunny Dorney Lake in Windsor, supported by Team Activity Group. The team ‘Paddle like crazy’ had three attempts at the fastest time round a set course with a result of 1st place out of the Grosvenor boats and 11th place overall! The event raised £54K in support of Groundwork, a federation of charities responsible for mobilising practical community action on poverty and the environment across the UK.
