We're on our way to Wembley!    Our goal is to deliver a fantastic new Big Yellow Self Storage unit in London, just 500 metres from the world's most famous football stadium.   We're about to kick-off this exciting new build and fit out project, constructing a four-storey unit following the strip-out and demolition of an existing building.   Works include erecting the steel frame, mezzanine flooring, car parking facilities, landscaping, internal partitions, fencing, roofing, and cladding, all M&E works, solar panels and internal decorations. The final whistle will blow when we reach practical completion early next year.   #loveconstruction (Photo is of one we prepared earlier, in Slough.)

All eyes on Allsee - As part of our commitment to our social responsibility agenda, we have engaged with the team of tutors at South Birmingham College's Mechanical and Electrical Department to involve their technical students in the construction of the new Allsee development at Longbridge in Birmingham.   The tutors and students will visit the site on nine different occasions to witness the progress of the construction of the project, from the steel frame erection to the completion of the test and commissioning. In doing so, the students will gain a lot of knowledge and have a valuable insight into how a construction project is developed and managed. #loveconstruction

They say teamwork makes the dream work, so it was great to see some of our employees team up to take part in a football tournament to support a charity that's close to our hearts. Our team's goal was to raise money for Reconnected – a homeless charity - and they did themselves and the company proud, lifting a trophy and bringing home the silverware. The tournament at Power League in Coventry was organised by @Business Fives which hosts corporate five-a-side events, offering a mix of team building and networking that enables companies to make a positive impact while raising money for good causes. Together we rise! That's the theme of this year's Women in Construction Week, and it's one we fully endorse. Together we Rise celebrates the strength and knowledge of women and the vital role they play inshaping the future of the construction industry.y. Here at MCS Group we have a total of 62 staff - 14 are women and the rest of our team are men.    The aim of this week is to celebrate and promote the role of women in our industry. By doing so, we hope to inspire more and more women to pursue careers in this dynamic field.   The week highlights the challenges women may face in this typically male dominated environment. It's an industry which has long struggled with gender imbalance but the good news is it is now slowly improving.   The event is also crucial in helping construction companies diversify their workforce, for women in both construction roles and leadership roles. So join us in celebrating Women in Construction Week - together we rise!

PROGRESS REPORT: The steel frame is up and we've started on the cladding at West Longbridge in Birmingham. We're delivering a new headquarters for one of the world’s biggest manufacturers exclusively dedicated to the commercial display and digital signage market. A 5,900 sq m warehouse is being built on behalf of Allsee Technologies, bringing investment and creating employment opportunities in one of the country’s largest regeneration zones. The 50-week design and build project, which is expected to reach practical completion late this year, includes three storeys of office space, car parking and external works.
