What happens when Queensland's brightest minds come together to discuss climate resilience and decarbonisation? At our 2024 Brisbane Carbon Crunch event, we brought together leaders and experts to discuss the transport industry's role in supporting climate resilience and achieving decarbonisation objectives. The discussion centred around the challenges, like implementing decarbonisation initiatives early on a project, and opportunities, like embedding systems thinking, that are facing us. Interested in more insights? In the video below, our early career professionals asked our guests and panellists for their thoughts on the industry's biggest challenges and opportunities. 👇 We are excited to share full insights in our Carbon Crunch Brisbane report, which you can read on our website: https://mottm.ac/4jbjuhd

We’re delighted to announce that in partnership with WSP in the UK & Ireland (MWJV) we have been appointed by Network Rail to the £300m Northern Powerhouse Rail Development & Design Partnership Framework (DDPF). This project will revolutionise rail travel across the North of England, connecting key economic hubs including Liverpool, Leeds, Bradford and York. As part of the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom’s Integrated Rail Plan, it will deliver better regional connectivity, offering faster, greener and more reliable journeys. MWJV, supported by Costain Group PLC as its Strategic Construction Partner, will lead multidisciplinary design and advisory services. Congratulations to Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners on reaching financial close for the Fengmiao Phase 1 Offshore Wind Farm in Taiwan! As lender’s technical advisor, we were responsible for working closely with the Fengmiao I team over the course of a year and a half to rigorously and proactively identify risks and mitigations. With extensive offshore wind engineering and design experience globally and a strong local team, we were well placed to support the project in achieving a timely financial close. Located off the coast of Taichung City, the project is now entering construction phase. With plans to install 33 wind turbine generators with a combined capacity of 495MW, Fengmiao I will provide a stable green energy supply and advance Taiwan towards its renewable energy targets. In two rural villages in the state of Uttar Pradesh in #India, our #CSR programme, Utthan, has created a lasting impact. Since 2022, our team in #SouthAsia has been working with marginalised communities to deliver targeted interventions in education, natural resource management, health and hygiene, skill and livelihood generation, and financial inclusion. Utthan, meaning upliftment, reinforces our social purpose of creating the essential #infrastructure needed for a more #inclusive and resilient society. Fast forward to 2025, here is the story of transformative change so far: 🤝32 projects addressing specific challenges identified by communities 🏫 Improved classroom facilities and learning materials have increased the number of children enrolling in and attending school 💧3000 more people now have access to a sustainable drinking water supply 💵Women-only cooperatives have supported 350 women with finance and business management training enabling many to generate their own income for the first time Here are some photos from the programme closing ceremony. Although our inputs have concluded, our focus on community-led development will ensure that its achievements extend well beyond its three-year duration.
