We’re using our digital twin platform to help deliver the Terra Nueva Solar PV Project in the Philippines. This innovative project combines solar PV and battery energy storage systems to supply a steady 850MW of power to the grid during high-demand periods. The steady renewable energy supply will enable the country to reduce its dependence on coal imports, reducing coal use by approximately 1.4 million tonnes per year. As the owner's engineer, we’re responsible for the electrical, civil and renewable energy engineering as well as strategic contracting. By deploying digital solutions, we’re harnessing the power of automation to process vast quantities of data from various sources, ensuring real-time and extensive project insights. As one of the largest initiatives of its kind globally, this implementation of digital twin technology is not only driving efficiency but also shaping the future of project delivery. We’re excited to be working on this project that is setting a new standard for sustainable energy solutions in the Philippines and directly benefiting the local community in Nueva Ecija and Bulacan. How easily can we adjust our habits to encourage more active travel in our cities? 🚇🚴♀️🚶 During our annual #ActiveTravel Challenge, colleagues worldwide embraced the opportunity to find out. They earned points as they walked, cycled, carpooled, or used public transport to travel to their local offices throughout the week. Together, they travelled a staggering distance of 59,578km. We partnered with Access Singapore on a mentorship programme for secondary school students to explore career opportunities in STEM. Access Singapore is a social mobility charity that provides career exposure opportunities for students who face academic, social or financial challenges. The Access x Mott MacDonald Mentorship programme enables students to build professional relationships, pursue self-discovery and make informed decisions about their future careers. Students from CHIJ St Theresa’s Convent were paired with our early career professionals (ECP) as mentors. Our ECPs also conducted two masterclasses to further develop the students’ communication and critical thinking skills, as well as lead discussions to explore individual interests and provide guidance for future career pathways. It's great to see our ECPs giving back to the community and helping to engage the next generation of engineers and innovators. Meet thomas ussery, our North America fuel networks and storage practice leader. Thomas has been with us for over 18 years, engineering, managing, and directing #pipelines and facilities projects in the #energy industry. Here’s your first glance at the first real-world #PCRAM assessments 🌍📜 The new Physical Climate Risk Assessment Methodology (PCRAM) in Practice report was launched last week by the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC) and it explores its implementation for two real-world case studies, in #hydropower and coastal #wind power. Building on our earlier contribution to develop PCRAM, we are proud to have supported the Coalition for Climate Resilient Investment (CCRI) and its Asset Design & Structuring working group to develop the new case studies and report. PCRAM is a first-of-a-kind resource that establishes a standardised understanding of the physical risks from climate change, like damage to assets or unplanned downtime caused by extreme weather events.
