The voice of housing associations in England.
About us
The National Housing Federation is the voice of affordable housing in England. We believe that everyone should have the home they need at a price they can afford. That's why we represent the work of housing associations and campaign for better housing. Our members provide two and a half million homes for more than five million people. And each year they invest in a diverse range of neighbourhood projects that help create strong, vibrant communities. Our mission is to support and promote the work that housing associations do and campaign for better housing and neighbourhoods.

Many heat networks in social housing will require investment to meet forthcoming regulatory standards. There is currently grant funding available from the government through the Heat Network Efficiency Scheme (HNES) to support this. The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) is hosting a free event at the Birmingham Conference and Events Centre on Tuesday 17 September 2024 where housing associations can hear more about the grant scheme and support current and future applicants. Find out more and register your place to attend: https://lnkd.in/eXqJ5m4w

Many of the sessions at the #HousingCommunitySummit focus on how landlords can continue to improve in maintaining the condition of their homes, understanding the needs of their residents, and effectively using data to achieve both of these critical aims. This builds on the aims of the Better Social Housing Review and the joint NHF and CIH action plan. Next month, we’ll be launching a new report on #MakingEveryContactCount, setting out how social landlords can make every contact [with residents] count as an opportunity to check on the condition of homes and on the needs of residents. We’re pleased to share some of the guiding principles from the report which is launching at our Quality Homes Conference. Join us there to find out more: https://lnkd.in/e9F9Vde5

Thanks @Victoria_Spratt & the i paper for highlighting this important issue. Housing associations are prioritising building safety above all else. However, the total absence of funding for #SocialHousing is a critical factor in the pace of #BuildingSafety work. Govt must end this unfair & discriminatory system & give #SocialHousing equal access to funding.

It's wrong that 7 years since the Grenfell Tower fire, #SocialHousing tenants are the only remaining residents without access to funding for #BuildingSafety Govt must end this unfair and discriminatory system, and give #SocialHousing equal access to funding. Thanks to Victoria Spratt for highlighting this important issue. https://lnkd.in/e4YCVkDs
