SailGP and Emirates joined forces to install Living Sea Walls along Blue's Point in Sydney Harbour last week - which hosted the action-packed racing at the KPMG Australia Sail Grand Prix this past weekend. Members of the Australia SailGP Team, local youth from the Harbour Sydney School and the Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS) came together to install 20 habitat enhancement panels which are expected to generate a 40% increase in habitable area on the sea wall, supporting an increase in marine life, food sources for larger animals, and water filtering. SailGP has partnered with SIMS for a few seasons now - supporting its conservation work with the White’s seahorse in Sydney Harbour as well. Australia SailGP Team athlete Kinley Fowler said: "Everyone in the world has a best interest in making sure the ocean stays healthy. It's projects like these - exploring different ways to keep our habits healthy and growing that are going to make the difference in years to come." #SailGP #BetterSportBetterPlanet #Emiratespartnership #localoceanimpactproject #SIMS #collaboration #ImpactLeague Dr Vanessa Pirotta
