  • Welcome to part four of Small Brand Stories – a series where we pass the mic to one of the amazing small brands on our marketplace. Meet Betsy Benn, Founder of Betsy Benn. "I started Betsy Benn in 2010 from my kitchen table whilst my four-year-old was at pre-school. Within eighteen months our award-winning destination print was the top-selling product on the whole of Not On The High Street - it was a real "pinch me" moment! In the years since, we've moved into studios, recruited a dream team of amazing women, and massively expanded our range. Through it all we've stayed true to our design principles. First and foremost we design everything to tell a part of our customers' stories. Maybe it's a print that captures their most loved travel memories, or a cushion that celebrates the year their Mum was born (for her big birthday!). It might be a personalised notebook to tell a teacher how much you appreciate their connection with your child, or a Christmas decoration for a baby's first-ever Christmas. So, our tagline is "A Design For Every Story." Gifts like this are the perfect expressions of the love or gratitude between the giver and the receiver. We feel so privileged to enable the best part of humanity! Just call us gifting Cupids. Secondly, we design for life. We're not at all interested in adding unnecessary "stuff" to the planet. Every gift we make is designed and made in-house with love and care. We don't jump on short-lived design trends (no llamas or flamingoes here) and we use the very best materials with longevity in mind. The best gifts shouldn't cost the Earth. My advice to other entrepreneurs would be to find your tribe. No-one will understand your journey quite like someone else on the same path. Make connections and inspire and support each other!" - Betsy Benn, Founder of Betsy Benn Shop their small brand: https://lnkd.in/eg4q5BvG #SmallBrandStories

  • Did you know that it’s estimated that we won’t achieve full gender parity until 2158? That’s roughly five generations away. This year’s International Women’s Day theme is Accelerate Action with a focus on taking small decisive steps to speed up the rate of progress worldwide. We’re proud to say that: - 50% of our leadership team are women  - 62% of our employees are women  - We are both female-founded and have a female CEO  - Over 80% of the small brands on our marketplace are either female-founded or female-led But we know there’s always more that can be done. So this week, we asked everyone from Team NOTHS to commit to a small pledge to help speed up progress towards gender equality. #AccelerateAction

  • Welcome to part two of our new LinkedIn series – Small Brand Stories. Each time we’ll be passing the mic to one of the amazing small brands on our marketplace to share their story. Meet Pamela Aculey, Founder of Just Like Me Books: “Every child deserves to see themselves in the stories they read. But for too long, children like my autistic son, Walter, have searched through books only to find their reflections missing. Stories shape how we see ourselves and how the world sees us—they have the power to uplift, to validate, and to make every child feel like they belong. That’s why I created Just Like Me Books—not just to publish stories, but to spark a movement. A movement that ensures no child feels invisible. A movement that proves representation isn’t a privilege; it’s a right. But I wanted to take it further. For many children, especially neurodivergent ones, stories need to do more than just sit on a page—they need to come alive. That’s why we use augmented reality to transform reading into an immersive experience. With our books and the scan of a phone or tablet, our characters move, react and invite children into their world. This isn’t just about innovation; it’s about inclusion—giving every child a chance to engage, connect, and experience stories in a way that speaks to them. For those who dream of building something meaningful, know this: Passion may light the way, but purpose is what keeps you going. The most impactful brands don’t just sell products; they solve problems, change narratives, and leave the world better than they found it.” Pamela Aculey, Founder of Just Like Me Books Shop their small brand: https://lnkd.in/grWRY6A6 #SmallBrandStories
