Solar energy and agriculture working together—it’s a powerful combination. ☀️ We recently made our largest acquisition in France on behalf of our investors by acquiring OX2 France—a trailblazer in agrivoltaics. This innovative developer combines solar energy generation with agriculture to maximise land use and boost biodiversity. This acquisition brings a pipeline of 21 projects across Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Centre-Val de Loire, and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. If all projects are built, this will add close to 500 MW of solar capacity in France by 2031. If you haven’t already heard, we’re building Sierra Leone’s first-ever wind farm on Sherbro Island. 🇸🇱🌬️ This project marks our move into developing renewables in Africa, and we can’t wait to see green energy powering Sierra Leonean homes, schools, medical facilities, and even e-motorbikes. We want everyone to have access to clean energy, and this project—which combines wind, solar, and battery storage—will provide crucial data on local wind patterns and energy usage, helping unlock further renewable investments across Sierra Leone in the future. 💡  This initiative is not part of Octopus Energy Generation's regulated financial services business.

We’re helping to take clean aviation to new heights! ✈️🌱 On behalf of our investors, we’re backing sustainable fuels expert Nordic Generation Fuels. Their innovative process captures biogenic CO2 (carbon emitted by biological material) and combines it with green hydrogen to create sustainable aviation fuel for cleaner air travel. ⚡️ This investment will support the construction of two fuel production facilities in Finland. Once completed and operating at full capacity, these facilities could produce enough fuel to power nearly 2,000 flights from London to New York each year! We’re making waves in France! Our joint venture with Skyborn Renewables has been selected by the French government to participate in next year’s offshore wind tender—a competitive process where companies propose projects to develop new wind farms. 🇫🇷🌬️ This marks a major milestone for us as it’s the first offshore wind tender we’ll enter globally! It also builds on the momentum of surpassing $2 billion in offshore wind investments on behalf of our investors over the past two years. Offshore wind is a game-changer for the energy transition, and France's coastline offers huge potential. The list highlights those who have had the greatest impact on the rollout of renewable energy projects over the past 18 months—and things have been particularly busy at Octopus Energy Generation! 🐙🚀 Just last month, on behalf of our investors, we invested in rooftop solar developer Coralsun to create 150 MW of new solar projects in Italy, and announced our support for solar developers Circal and Zestec Renewable Energy as they scale their operations in the US.
