At Great Haddon, we’re working with local authorities to develop affordable homes that aren’t just accessible – they’re thoughtfully designed to support long-term stability for families and communities. With 3,000 households waiting for housing in Peterborough, projects like these are critical. Hear from Bobby Duke, Senior Housing Strategy & Enabling Officer, and Anne Keogh, Housing & Strategic Planning Manager at Peterborough City Council, on why these developments matter 👇 📖 Or institutional investors can explore our approach to affordable housing: https://bit.ly/4kRsdH4
About us
Octopus Investments, part of the Octopus Group, is an investment company investing in the people, ideas and industries that will change the world. We manage investments for retail and institutional investors, investing the £10.0* billion they have entrusted to us into the areas where we believe we can have the greatest impact. As a member of the Venture Capital Trust Association (VCTA), we’re excited to share their latest report, celebrating 30 years of VCTs fuelling innovation and high-growth start-ups across the UK. 🚀 💡 Since the launch of the scheme, VCTs have grown to collectively manage more than £6.5bn today, spanning a current portfolio of more than 1,000 start-ups and scale-ups, which together support more than 100,000 jobs. Additionally, over 45,000 investors who invest across our VCTs have been provided access to these high growth companies. The VCTA report explores VCTs' impact across three key areas; emerging industries, emerging investors, and emerging entrepreneurs. It also outlines crucial next steps for VCTs: ✅ Increasing funding limits ✅ Closing the investment gap for female founders ✅ Raising VCT eligibility age limits As Lord Clarke, VCTA President and former Chancellor, said in 1994: "A flourishing venture capital industry plays a key role in promoting job creation, innovation, and growth"—a sentiment that holds true today. 👉 Download the report and see how VCTs are helping to change the future. https://bit.ly/41twRSB

Happy International Women’s Day! 💜 What does it take to #AccelerateAction on gender equality? Yesterday, the brilliant Octopus Women’s Network hosted an inspiring lunch and learn followed by networking drinks to celebrate IWD 2025. Conversations covered everything – from visibility and confidence-building to the importance of role models and inclusive leadership, all tied to this year’s theme: accelerate action. Three big things we learned: 💡Visibility matters – Amplifying female voices helps drive real change. 💡Confidence is key – Open conversations empower women to succeed. 💡Action starts with us – Progress happens when we uplift each other. A huge shout out to the Octopus Women’s Network for putting together a fantastic event and everyone who joined the conversation. Let’s keep the momentum going! 🚀 #IWD2025 #InternationalWomensDay #OctopusWomensNetwork #GenderEquality

What’s the best way to protect nature? 🌍 That was the big question at yesterday’s Natural Capital Connections event, hosted by the B Finance & Investment Circle for B Corp Month. With over 70 attendees and a panel of experts, the discussion was lively (at times, heated!). While philanthropy has played a role in funding nature-based solutions, it hasn’t been enough to scale real change. Investment is critical – but how do we turn natural capital into an asset class that attracts long-term funding? A huge thank you to our co-hosts, Lucy Ronan, Octopus Investments and George Roffey, Centrus , and to our brilliant panellists Gabi Slemer, CFA, Luke Baldwin, Isabel Milligan, Robert Godfrey, and Tom Dillon. And of course, to everyone who joined us! From thought-provoking audience questions to post-event B Corp drinks (Uncommon, Toast, and Something & Nothing | B Corp™), it was a fantastic evening.
