Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) are essential to advancing women’s rights, both in the UK and around the world. Government spokesperson for Equalities, Lord Collins of Highbury, joined a recent briefing with our #CSW69 delegates to share global insights and learn about women’s experiences at the grassroots level.

For International Women’s Day, the Government is #AcceleratingAction to change women’s lives through our Plan for Change. This means providing greater opportunities in the workplace, ensuring our streets are safe and that we have better public services that work for women and their families. By focusing on these outcomes, we will put more money in working women’s pockets, improve their living standards and grow the economy. We wish women across the UK 🇬🇧 and around the world 🌎 a happy #IWD25. Bridget Phillipson, Secretary of State for Education, and Minister for Women & Equalities, joined us for our #InternationalWomensDay celebrations – after recognising JLR as an employer in the UK that is leading the way in championing gender equality. We had the opportunity to share more about our progressive and industry-leading policies and initiatives that are helping women to thrive in the workplace. These include our 52-week maternity leave package with full pay, our comprehensive menopause policy, and our new luxury workwear, where options on offer include a hijab and temperature-regulating clothing. The Secretary of State also met with some of our female colleagues across the business taking part in a speed networking event at our Gaydon HQ. Over the past few years, we’ve made huge progress in our efforts to drive gender equality at JLR. This #IWD25, we reflect on how far we’ve come yet recognise our commitment to continue to strive to be a place where everyone feels respected, valued and cared for. #JLR #Reimagine #IWD #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion #AcceleratingAction Office for Equality and Opportunity
