We want our new approach to inspection to be better for providers, parents and children, but we need your help with shaping it. That was our Chief Inspector, Sir Martyn Oliver's message to the Nursery World Business Summit on Wednesday. He also: - thanked the early years sector for the incredible work they do - discussed the aims of the new proposals - explained how our approach will be tailored to different types of provider and be based on the standards they already work to - set out the next steps for the consultation and the sector. We're introducing clear evaluation areas across our inspection toolkits to make the inspection process more transparent and meaningful. Here's what this means in practice: - evaluation areas that are tailored to each sector, reflecting each sector's unique context, from early years through to further education - consistent themes within each area - recognition that providers are at different stages in their improvement journey - celebrating successes, acknowledging work in progress, and identifying next steps. We strongly believe that being open about how we evaluate education providers will help everyone better understand and engage with the inspection process. That's why we've published all our draft toolkits as part of the consultation - we want you to see them and share your thoughts. Want to know more about how we're transforming education inspection? Watch the full video here: https://lnkd.in/dnZB4g6X or go to our website to read the proposals in full.
